You can download ecuflash which is free that is how you read your stock map from your ecu then you can save it. So instead of this being a big deal BUY THE DAMN CABLE PERIOD! somebody lock this thread lol get it!

It will give you the ability to archive your ROMs and also as just a code reader with the free OBD ScanTech software, it's good to have.

I don't know if your playing dumb to try and raise your post count by posting countless stupid questions and keep on bumping them. Or are you really that narrowminded. Navigate yourself to the ecuflash forum and read all there is to read. All of your stupid questions are starting to annoy me!

Yes I recommend you get one especially for a tuned Evo. Its a great peace and most of the programs are free with the exception of Evoscan($25) It has saved me a ton with logging and checking and clearing OBD codes. It should be an evo owners must have.

ok i just found out that my tuner scramble's the ecu after he tunes it so i dont think i can use the tactrix cable. so i guess the only way to get the stock map back is to go back to the tune and have him flash me back to stock right?

You can tell him not to, or you can probably use an ECU unlocker. Tuners that lock ECU's are ****ing gay, period.

got my own cable now

i got my own cable now...and have ECU flash on my laptop. this is the bs i am talking about. ecuflash does not "recognize" the ROM. it is either scrambled...or his laptop has a key code on it. it will not read the ECU. or as i see it.

LOCKED!!!!!

anyone know how to get past this?

You can download stock ROMs off of Aktive Matrix. You just need to register with the site and then you can enjoy all the freebies.
