i have been wanting a dd for a while now but i hear its hard to get one from orbital and people are selling on here for way to much. and the only other option i had was take it to a shop and have them fiberglass one for me. well my friend beat me to the punch and it ended up costing 3000 yep 3000 so im going to try to do it myself if anyone has anything they can say that will help please say it because i have never worked with fiberglass before so anything helps

 

wtf, 3000 just for the fiberG double din mount? thats insane... i have no idea how much people that work fiberglass in USA charge, but that sounds WAY off... i cant possibly think it woud be so expensive... i could think somewhere in the 300 bucks range... but 3000 is just insane

 

well he ended up paying a little over 4000 for the dd deck and the fiberglass for that and one other thung so it might have been a little less then 3000 maybe 24-2800

For 3000 it better have a gold brick taped to it in the back. That is nuts, any local shop around here wouldnt charge more than a couple hundred bucks to knock it out.

 

You have to have the story wrong. No possible way it would be 3 grand for just the dash kit.

I agree.There is no way a fiberglass double din unit would cost $3,000. That would just be stupid. Maybe he meant $400 with the head unit.

 

a double-din is a radio or dvd that is double the size of a regular in-dash radio, single din height is 50mm and double-din 100mm height... DIN stands for something german, deutsch institute of something...
