Evo IX key programming!

I jumped terminals 1 & 4 like I was supposed to
I clicked the hazard switch 6 times (it locked unlocked like it should)
I pressed lock twice on the remote (doors locked and unlocked again like they should)
I removed jump wire and took key out

NOTHING!! I even replaced the battery on the remote...

Please help... a dealer quoted me at 98 dollars to program this little "Made in China" Toy.
Thanks a lot

You need to press it ONCE then TWICE more. Then your good to go.

Yes, 3 times total.

1. Put key in, off position.
2. Ground pin 1, just to the chasis.
3. Press hazard button 6 times, doors lock/unlock.
4. Press lock button once....pause....then press 2 more times.

Then your done.

Are you trying to program a key or the keyless entry remote?

I think you either have the wrong remote or a bad one.

The FCC ID should be #OUCG8D-525M-A

I'm looking to program an extra key fob and found this thread. I read somewhere that we need 2 original keys to program a new key. Is this true? Or can I follow Jay644 post and program a new key without any issues?
