Becoming tired of the build

Okay, so far my evo is built perfectly to my specifications. I have worked my *** off to save for the parts that I wanted after all the hours of research on everything. I'm at about 380-390whp on a dyno jet right now, with a meth kit soon to be going in. I am tired of trying to save up in order to build it to my wants and needs. I want a 35r powered evo, built motor, and a stroker would be nice. I just don't have the money to buy all these things, and don't think I ever will. My evo currently has just under 10000 miles. Would it be better if I were to just sell my evo and try to buy an evo that would be modified to my tastes already?? I know some of you are going to say that i don't know what that owner has done to the car etc. etc. but what are the chances of me actually buying someone elses problem??

Dang.. that sucks. What kind of problems are people running into when buying a higher hp evo? What precautions can I take in order to check to make sure things are alright??

Yeah man it seems like garden hose in and fire hose out when it comes to spending money for your whip. But dont feel bad I would much rather have a little or no mod evo then a highly modified and possibly ragged car. Just be content with what you have and just realize that the numbers you have are numbers that all other kinds of ricers out there would KILL for!!

There are a handful of good 35r evo's for sale u just have to do some research on them, i found one in like jan that was built by buschur and it was a 03. It was on here for a long time actually, the guys name was JJ and it was a silver evo with black stock rims and a cf front lip.

I might be wrong, but you'll get more for the car if it's stock when selling.
Or, you may be parting off all the goodies.

I can relate 150%, but my boat is different that it seems these huge life changes keep happening. Moving to another state~not moving to another state, changing jobs~ not changing jobs, 13K family trip to Germany~No trip to Germany.

Then parts keep changing. The latest in greatest get's surpassed by the next latest and greatest.

IMO, the best option is to buy a built car that was built by a reputable shop, but that's not to say some gremlins may or may not exist.

Good luck!!

it takes a while to save and have all that stuff...i want a lot of the stuff you do, and i do have the money for some of it but i have other priorities and bills and worry about dumping money into the Evo and then needing that money all of a sudden. Just gotta work hard and save! i wish i was born into money lol but just aint happening

I say "better the devil you know". Chances are a modded car has probably been driven very hard. If it's not built by a reputable shop with bills/receipts you just don't know what short cuts have been taken and if the modifications have been done correctly.
On a seperate note; half the fun of a build is researching, choosing the parts you want, fitting them and then noticing the gains... if it's boring you maybe you should look for a faster, stock car (which could be difficult, I guess it depends on your budget).

Buying a modded car is like, well, buying a beat car.
That's why it was modded in the first place.
If you get a car that's stock, build it yourself, treat it right, it will last longer.
IMHO

In addition to the questions above, will you get tired of a more upgraded car? Answer is yes. You'll be back on the same boat soon. Keep it simple and enjoyable.
