The 8 MR headlights have a flat black housing while the 9 MR headlights have a glossy black housing

All you need is the housing and the new fog harnesses. Anyone on here can sell you the housings and you can get the harnesses at Autozone or any local auto store. No need to limit yourself to a vendor who "carries everything you need". So no need to wait!

IX GSRs are non-hid though.

Many people have modified cutoffs on this forum. Lots of VERY useful info if you search.

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/

To the people who say it's not a big deal, they aren't as picky as some. I'd never want to drive with headlights the have the opposite cutoffs as we do in the states. I've done many HID retrofits of projectors in various cars, so maybe I'm picky, but lighting is very important, even in the city.

Goodluck!

You guys have pics of the JDM IX headlights installed on your evo?

Maybe this will help you, I think most people call it black chrome (not glossy). Same thing as the USDM IX Headlights except it has an amber turn instead of a clear turn. I don't know who would spend all of that money to just switch turn signal color. I'd go with Flat Black housing with Amber at that point.

thanks for the link.
Good info on that site, but it looks like it will be more reliable to just swap the projectors.
