Weird buzzing from passenger side when car is off

When I turn off my car, I'm getting a buzzing noise from under the front passenger side after long drives. Actually its more like a groan sometimes...and you can feel the vibration in your feet. The car is hitting close to 50k miles now. Anyone ever hear of something like this? What would still be running after the engine is off?

do you have an aftermarket exhaust?
Sometimes when the exhaust is cooling down it makes noises like that.
Take a board or a piece of rubber or your boot tip and press it against the exhaust and see if that damps out the noise.
DON'T BURN YOURSELF.
If that is the case, the only fix is new or improved exhaust hangers, the rubber bits, I think kart-boy makes them.
Check the exhaust bolts as well.

Yea I have an aftermarket exhaust. I suppose that would be very probable, next time i hear it i'll try and nudge the exhaust with my foot and see if the noise changes.

Why would exhaust hangers make noise though? And what do I check for the exhaust bolts? I recently retorqued them down, perhaps I overtorqued them? Or are you just saying to check for rust.

I believe it is down to the construction of the exhaust. And the noise doesn't mean that there is a problem with construction, many truck exhausts will make the same noise, just the metal makes noise when contracting during cooling. More damping from exhaust hangers may help to dampen the noise

I think i've determined the problem... my car has now just begun having alternator whine at idle. Before I guess it was whining when accelerating but i always thought it was my transmission...

When I use the power windows the pitch of the whine changes. Also my car sometimes likes to dip below 500 rpms/almost stall when I drop it into neutral. But I generally catch it as I've seen it start happening almost 2 years ago(always thought it was the tune/mods?)

Would a alternator going out cause a buzz/creak from the passenger side while thee car is off? There's no noise from using the windows when the car is not running.

Nevermind...after some more listening it turns out my walbro is the whining. It just started apparently after 5-6 months....and the creaking comes from my strut being blown( ithink after i put in some new struts we'll see)....

And the slight whine during acceleration is actually my transmission...all is well.
