Yahoo's article.

http://finance.yahoo.com/insurance/a...Cars-to-Insure

Kinda surprised to see Lancer being on the list for most expensive to insure. Any thoughts?

I would have to assume it is because of all the younger people that buy these cars and then crash them.

That list makes no sense to me. The ser-spec v was one of the cheapest cars ive ever owned to insure. My s2000 was more expensive to insure than the lancer

I used to own a Tiburon and my insurance was significantly lower...does this mean I can stop paying through the roof for the Evo?

Ah the insurance companies, one of the few places that can thrive on profiling. Despite my virtually flawless driving record (no accidents for which I was at fault, no tickets, hell never even been pulled over) I still pay more than the girl down the road who yaps on her cell phone at every turn.

I think the "Lancer" is being mistaken for an Evo....

That list means that the lancer (evo or not) is one of the top ten cars responsible for losses by insurance companies, my insurance isnt by any means rediculous but its still pretty high

That list is based off of the quantity of insurance claims that insurance companies get. Since the cars on that list are predominately bought from younger men who in turn have the highest percentage of tickets and accidents you can see how the list turned out. It's about statistics.
