The Evo Remote
The Evo Remote
Im so tired of using my ancient key unlock method. Instead of paying 100 damn dollars to have my one and only key remote reprogrammed is their any way I can get this thing to recognize the car or get programmed for cheaper?
Thanks so much in advance!!

Here is a thread on it. I am not sure how easy or hard it will be to do though.
Also the thread is from 2004 so I am not sure if any or all of the pic or links will still work.
Good luck on getting your programmed.

Ever had one of those days where you think you do something but don’t?
Again sorry about that.

That was the best help I could provide. Which apparently was none at all.
Well I did find this link in another thread.

Other than that I am about out of options. It seems no one on the forums really responds to this question or knows how to do it properly. If you do figure it out maybe you could do a good write up that everyone can understand. Hopefully I will not have to use it anytime soon though.

It's actually really easy:
1.Locate the Data Port under drivers side dashboard usually located to the right of steering column.
2.Insert keys in ignition and leave in the OFF position.
3.Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data Port terminals 1 and 4 with a suitable jumper wire, leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure. Make sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.
4.Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch 6 times. Note: The doors will automatically lock and unlock once at this time indicating that the system is in the programming mode.
5.Press the LOCK button on the remote to be registered three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the door will lock and unlock once.
6.Repeat step 5 with up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes) within one minute. After completing each programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.
7.Disconnect the programming wire and remove the keys from the ignition..
For a programming wire I used a paperclip which I bent to fit into the two slots. Make sure you remove the keys from the ignition when you go to test the remote otherwise it wont work (I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work).
