Well I rode in my friends 06 sti with cobb stage 1 flash.. well let me tell you it pulled. I have a 04.5 VW Jetta GLI that I am getting rid of for a 2003 Evo VIII... Just wondering when does boost kick in"RPM wise" how many pounds.. and can you feel the kick to it?

going from the 1.8t world to the evo...night and day. You just have to drive it, cannot be explained properly.

Only one way to describe it.. ride in or drive one
Find someone in the Charlotte / Rock Hill area and ask for a ride.
Or come down here to MB.
Even though I have a highly modded IX, a modded VIII is "close-ish"..

When boost kicks in, hold on.. lol

haha, evos like alot of Boost, mine runs 24 PSI spike on pump gas(28 PSI on race gas)

ohh thats on the stock turbo BTW

stock evos i think spike 19.5psi and taper to 14.7 or something.but all you would need to beat a Cobb stg1 is and exhaust and a MBC/tune...evos have Open Ecu which means we dont need to buy a tuning''CHip'' like APR or REVO on the VWs

do a lil reading, evos are amazing

Main con: It lacks ANY torque without boost. Aside from that it's a beast.

not quite....stock EVO's boost right at 20psi, and taper to around 16-17 at redline. really, you just have to drive it...and by feeling are you just talking about the str8 line acceleration, or the entire driving experience? if you're talking about the car as a whole, you just have to drive it. the way it handles is weird...(I own an 06 IX MR, and i've never driven a non-ACD model, so the experience would be a little different in an 03) took some getting use to coming from a FWD honda accord. the way i had the accord set up, it turned great, handled great, but it was a hand ful. had to play catch with the rear end from time to time. the EVO's different. the weirdest feeling is going into a corner and only having the wheel turned a certain amount, and the car continues to turn. then you actually start unwinding the wheel before you think the car is done turning...like i said, totally different from a FWD. another BIG difference is "when in doubt, power out." no matter what's going wrong, it can almost always be solved by more power. takes some getting used to, and some blind faith the first couple of times you do it, but it all works out. just be prepared to work the steering wheel lol good luck on the purchase.

boost is more fun 1-60mph, especially with alot of turns.

if you try it, you will buy it
