Nice! What products did you use? I have the 3M sanding headlight resto sanding pad kit but I have not decided on product yet.

Oh and not today but last Saturday I ran my Evo 7 GTA in a rally cross event and being the last car it was super, super rough I am not going to do it again until I have a skid plate. Took it to a logging road that goes in 50km through beautiful scenery along a river and across many wood bridges. I couldn't believe how amazing it handles even with street summer tires. Literally was just driving casually at 100kmh around all the corners without sliding and I stayed in my lane. For rally cross I can actually see how being automatic can be beneficial as there was no chance I could shift quick enough. I got a really great time even though I was in tarmac mode on my first run. I span out the second time when hitting dirt and graveled covered pavement that required two sharp turns. I was worried I was going to slide into a 10ft wide log that is about fifty feet long.

I followed this guide from HID Planet - https://www.hidplanet.com/forums/for...adlight-lenses

I was lucky that I have a bunch of Menzerna polishes lying around. So I started with Fast Gloss 400 after various stages of wet sanding. Then moved onto their Super Intensive Polish -> Nano Polish -> Glaze. Sealed with OptiCoat at the end to hopefully provide a layer of UV protection.

I should be able to weld it but I'm out my original tuning fee and now have to pull it, send it out to get welded & Pressure tested, and then put it back on and pay for the tune again. I'd put the OEM Intake Manifold back on but I had to modify my Intercooler Piping to fit this VSR so I am now committed. I run a ton of AMS parts on my Evo this is the first failure I have experienced except the Odyssey battery failure bull crap which you have to install to pit their piping which admittedly is the shortest and fits the best.
You can see the bubble forming lower on the crack while pressurized.

Closeup of the crack and filtered to see the crack more clearly. Welds are beautiful no idea why it cracked.

Video below shows it bubbling while pressurized.
Mine did the same thing twice. Walker (from mpfab) had to weld it back up when he had it and then it cracked again, and walker isn't a noob when it comes to welding. So I got rid of it.

Thanks! I didn't even think about sealing it up after except with just a regular wax. I am starting to get hated out of jelaousy for this car, can't believe how many asses are in motorsports, especially mechanics, well not usually the good ones. Thankfully this car doesn't have nearly as many people who think they know it all and love to tell master builders (I am definitely not one lol) how to do things. Makes me happy Subarus and VW cause people problems especially the know it alls because they wreck their engines.

I gave it to a mechanic because first gear was shot. He "rebuilt" the tranny by ruining 2nd and 4th and blowing the motor.

Is the plastic piece you printed stronger than the oem piece? I would pay you to make me one lol my oem clip keeps popping off because the plastic is bending out.

So far its held, im going to assume it is stronger due to the orientation i printed it in. the layers perpendicular to the tension force.

I can print a and sell some. Yall can test them out if you want.
PM me. Also include how yours is breaking. Pictues are good

Last night I did some preventative maintenance in preparation for the ER Dyno day. It will be the first time i'm taking the evo to Vegas from San Diego. I changed the front o2 sensor, serpentine belt, motor oil and filter, spark plugs, and a leaking turbo radiator hose. Tune and tires are still fresh and the car is getting an alignment tomorrow. Replaced Crank position sensor, both cam angle sensors, and OMNI 4 bar map sensor earlier this year due to a starting problem. There are still a lot of things that can go wrong with the car and screw me on the trip, even though the car seems bullet proof at the moment. That is why I am doing the best I can to minimize the overall risk. I have been stranded by way of failed clutch TOB, failed fuel pump, and failed sensor. I just want it to be reliable enough to get me there and back. Wish me luck guys!
