Not today, but over the weekend, I installed a modified stock BOV that Don let me borrow to see if it helped with my boost issue. Well wouldnt you know, I can turn boost up past 25 now. I didnt think going from 25-30 psi was going to be such a big jump but man, it runs really really good now. I might actually turn the boost back down haha.
Spent a lot of money. Well it's been over the course of the last three days actually. Purchased a Precision 6870, Kiggly HLA pressure regulator, ITM lifters, R&R 162mm aluminium rods, and manley 9:1 pistons with extreme wrist pins.
Friday, my wife was supposed to be flying in from Denver after staying with her elderly mother. She called early that afternoon, it is snowing and the flight is delayed. An hour later she called again, her flight is canceled. I'm 400 miles away and she needs to be picked up. What's going to work best in a situation like this? Time to roll out the Evo on snow tires. Fifty miles out of Denver I hit snow. Around the airport with all the traffic it is like driving in a sewer. We are home and in bed by 3:30 A.M.

Not today but yesterday, I took the Evo out to our local street legal drags. The place was empty! Could have got a hundred runs in if I wanted. Still need to work on my launches but the car is capable of 11s for sure. I was in the right lane.
Ya it will go faster next time. I need more seat time. Launching on a well prepped track is way different than at auto-x or on the streets. A little wheel spin helps a lot.
The turbo is a custom unit which is between a HTA 71 and FP Green. Currently run a very conservative tune at 30 psi tapering to 27 with pretty low timing. GSC S2 cams are the only internal mods I have (valve springs too). Other then that, just your basic intake, o2 housing, 2.75" down pipe, 200 cell cat, cat back, ETS pipe off turbo, stock heat exchanger.... Honestly nothing fancy. Havent had it on the dyno but should make a little bit under 500 whp and 400 wtq. Once I find time to rent a dyno, I will squeak some more power out of it.
I've just been going through ethanol like it's going out of style. 600whp and cold brew is a great way to start the day.
Lol yep remember those days. Imagine doing what your doing with 1000 whp lol great feeling isn't it. I am waiting on my control arms to have new bushings pressed so I can get them on the car, put my snow tires on and off to get tuned if I don't decide to change anything else. Oh and waiting on a 60 degree or higher day lol
What I did for my Evo today: New AEM oil pressure and boost gauges (150psi and 60psi), S90 70mm throttle body, random things for 4G64 swap, pulled calipers off for cleaning and painting, transmission fluid, and got parts to build my own 4" intake.
Pulled a 4g64 block out of a 03 Eclipse at my local junkyard and received my Kiggly 12 tooth crank trigger, fluidampr, bearings, and arp main studs from extreme psi for my new motor build I'm starting.
