I meant oil filler cap. water vapors rise and would condense inside the VC and under the baffles, which would drip onto your cam lobes. I had a cam lobe that got grounded down way back before I solved the issue. this is why I make sure I let the pcv do its job. Water can also condense inside those long hoses when the air cools down
Oh I get it I am not trying to debate it lol. I run really good oil with extra molly and I ran -10 for years with no issues. Now I am -12 with an aftermarket vc and surprisingly the catch can does a pretty good job even on start up catching whatever and putting it where it belongs. But I totally get where your coming from and lots of truth to that . Thankfully I haven't had any issues running this as of yet.

cool cool. are you getting any oil/e85 smells? if you vent near the intake then you wont. my breathers vent inside a clear plastic container. it catches mostly just water and will evaporate out on its own. its practically maintenance free but it does have some paper towels in there. its good for controlling the oily fumes and in case oil starts getting pushed out.
as for the pcv, I idle my car in between autox run so vapors are sucked out while also getting the oil filtered and providing heat to the tires. some AC helps too lol

I get the smell of burning oil lol, no I found out my braided turbo feed line is now starting to leak being something caught it and it ripped a hole small hole in it and it's dripping on my exhaust. Other than that no I don't get any e85 smells or anything like that. I have to change my oil feline from my oil filter to the filter before my turbo or the restrictor and then I should be good.
Added grip tape to match the Ralliart pedals and installed! I think it should have came like this, it now looks complete imo. Used a different grip tape on the pedals, will eventually get them to all match to the same 3M safety tape.

After 5 years in a local shop, ridiculous amount of money spent only to have endless issues with headgaskets blowing requiring multiple machining to my block/head all for me to receive a vehicle that started pushing coolant again within 300 miles of delivery, I made the choice I should’ve made a long time ago. Made the 6 hour drive from VA to RRT Motorsports at 2AM this morning to finally get my car in the right hands. Stay tuned.
My latest build pushes coolant and blew up my rad on the dyno, we tried the Vulcan gasket too. I'm so tired of my luck working with evo shops lol. I still autox it, I just make sure the overflow ejects away from tires. then just add in 1/2 gallon after

Where are you out of or what area was the shop in?
Ouch. Did you try Evolution Dynamics in Lewisville TX?
That's 5 hrs away, I'd go ballistic if I couldnt reach anyone for updates. we HAD plenty of options back in the day. I think my previous motors crapped out because of that BradPenn oil I was told to use since my Bushur2.0 (engine#2). Engine #5 froze during break in, so that's f'd up. Incompetence is everywhere, some on the shop owner/racing hero, most are from the newb techs. Some of these guys are just bitter. I'm ok with my current builder, hes (always?) got 2 2.2l short blocks ready and takes them around to drag racing event. He told me he should have o-ringed my build, not sure what that means but looking forward to my next build lol
Dang, I hope engine 6 is the winner for you and you get to actually enjoy your investment this time.
I'm in Arkansas so it is a minimum of approx 5 hours no matter where I go. LOL
The longer my car stayed in a shop, the more damage it got. paint, headlights, wiring, threaded holes, sensors/plugs, missing nuts/bolts etc. My last 2 engines I just installed it myself and turn around was so much faster and I dont need to worry about install issues. I honestly I cant believe how knowledgeable i got when I fully supported these shops to do all work in a timely manner
