Had my spare Evo X wheels refurbed in matt manganese powdercoat and fitted with Michelin PS4 ready for fitting when spring arrives. We are due a bit of cold temps and snow for the next week so the compomotive TH3s and winter wellies are staying for a bit longer.
Hold on.... you are actually going to bring yours out of hibernation and drive it!? World must be coming to an end.
Yep! Driving it for a mini vacation in LA next weekend so I can take pictures of it at all the Fast and the Furious locations. Geek, I know. Gonna be a fun trip, though.
Got even more reason to never hire a shop again even if hell is freezing over!
So anyway, was getting some kinda dodgy behaviour from transmission(1st gear was getting poppy and notchy into 2nd) and this of course scares me for all the reasons but I figure best place to start is new fluid. Yadda yadda watch some vids it's easy as pie. 3 quarts boom.
Pretty sure the shifting problem was only like 600ml came out when I drained it! For those who don't know, this clutch has less than 5k on it and half of that was the work trip I crashed on. Silly me for assuming the fluid would be topped up from shop, but I do know it was old from sitting.
Anyway, immediately the pop out is gone. Of course I did it outside....of course hell started to freeze over! Is the new camera better? Actually yes, I just really am not good at picture guying it up. Gooch is bored of all this.
Hey everyone! new to the forums and have just bought a new to me jdm evo 8. Haven't driven it but I've done tons of mods already, can't wait for spring!
Congrats, post more photos of the exterior and interior please.
Sold it and purchased a brand new IS350 F-Sport AWD. Decided I want to take a break from the high performance lifestyle and transition into Luxury. So far, I love the switch but the Evo’s will always have a place in my heart.
I will probably own another at some point in the future.

Don't wait took long. Prices are getting a little stupid.

That is350 is still using the 2GR engine, right? Still pretty good performance and AWD as well, can give stock Evo X a good run actually.
Next time you should try the older CT9A to feel the more rawness of it but prices might keep increasing.
Pulled the 2003 Evo 8 out of the pole barn. She's dusty and needs some TLC, but still starts on the third crank of the engine. I have only had it out a handful of times in the past 8 years, but this summer it's my goal to make her a daily driver again.
