What is this part?

Ok, so last weekend at autocross I "apparently" dropped this part off my car. Although I think that this part is from another car and nobody noticed till i ran it over, since it was in the rain.

I checked both the front and back lower sway's and struts, and their still there. Also, this bar is pretty chincy and thin, so I don't think it would be part of my car. But i want to verify so I can be sure.

Dimensions:
25.5" Length
1" x 2" End Tab dimensions (flat part)
0.75" Diameter

Yep, that's your tie bar.

To clear the dp, the prev owner on mine used washers as spacers at the mounting points. But even so, the dp would flex enough that it would contact and transmit a weird rattle up through the cabin.

I finally decided to take mine off after I was traveling down a dirt road, and big rocks on the crown of the road were "plucking" the tie bar, and sounding like a huge guitar string. The K member looks beefy enough w/o it, so I'm not worried.

What I'm wondering is, how did yours come off? Is your evo lowered? Did you drag any cones?

Awsome! Yeah, I hadn't got a chance to really investigate where it might have come from. I just briefly looked underneath.

As far as how it came off, I have no idea. Although I do have one theory (and no I didn't drag a cone, i avoid them )

I think that when I took my car to AMS and they put on the TBE, they had to take the Tie Bar off, right? So maybe when they put it back on they didn't tighten it down all the way. Since I autocross A LOT, it probably shook loose and eventually shot out the car while racing.

IN FACT, this is exactly what happened with my battery. The negative terminal came loose after a morning of autoX. This was after AMS did the work to my car and I had not touched it since.

So I'll just have to put it back on and torque it to spec. Thanks for the feedback!
