H11 Vs 9006

I am in the market for an Evo and I was wondering since I can't let my HIDs on my eclipse goto waste is it possible to stuff my 9006 hids off my eclipse into the H11's for the fog lights? I can modify the base to make them fit if they have any chance at all of fitting.... I know they would fit in the brights but that wouldn't be too good for a flash to pass situation or flash to let someone know about a cop either..... I understand the optics of the a non HID reflector using a HID capsule and the lighting might be way off or it might be not soo bad like it is in my eclipse so my question to you is just how bad do you think this would NOT fit and how terrible would the optics be? LOL

HID's generally run at a lower wattage. So there should be less heat output.

i think he was referring to the 9006 stock bulbs vs the stock H11's...

should be about the same if they're both running 55 watts...

Just some food for though. Drive home with your headlights on.... when u get home feel the housing no heat.... then try with your fogs..... you will feel heat. Then try your brights you will feel more heat.... I hardly notice any heat at all with the hid. They run at 35 watts so they put out hardly any heat and a ton of light.

On the HID's heat is less vs. regular old 55w bulbs. The optics will be awful though when you toss in HID's into the fog light housing.

It would be better to sell the HID kit on ebay and pick up the new generation 2 H11's from www.hoen-usa.com which are insanely bright for regular 55w.

You will even have money let over to get another mod!

Word of caution: On startup the HID's take a boat load more energy to ignite vs. the halogen H11 and that will fry your factory fog light wiring in about 4-6 months. Use a harness if your going to do this to avoid expensive repairs.
