Read page 5 of your service manual it says right on it that the clutch disc is coverd for 12,000 miles. Also read page 19 in detail, because it says"MAINTENANCE SERVICE CAN BE PERFORMED BY ANY QUALIFIED SERVIVE OUTLET OR BY THE OWNER OR BY SOMEONE OF THE OWNER'S CHOOSING. HOWEVER, WARRANTY SERVICE MUST BE PERFORMED BY AND AUTHORIZED MITSUBISHI MOTORS DEALER OR SERVICE CENTER, IN ORDER TO BE PERFORMED AT NO CHARGE TO YOU."

Basically to my interpetation this means you CAN do oil changes and such your self as long as you keep records. It only means if you want to get something like the clutch fixed under warranty the dealer or service center must do it to be free.

Thats right, it is right there in writing. If they deny, tell them next time you see them you will be holding a Subpena in your hand. The judge will see this, see a young guy who bought a car, and see that a item has worn out WELL before it is suposed to, plus it says so right in the manual, I can't picture a Judge turning this down. And also tell them you will sue for los of $$$$$ becuase of court costs and Lawyer fees.

Ok I have the final update and I must say everything is turning out much better than I expected. I honestly think the district rep caught air of this thread...that is the only way I can explain his change of heart.

At any rate, they are going to replace the syncros under warranty and at the same time install for free my exedey twin plate clutch setup for free while they already have the stock clutch out. Yes, this will void my tranny warranty which they have explained to me and I am ok with. I would rather take the risk on the tranny than to keep replacing clutches every 2500 miles. After all, if I break the tranny, I'll just replace it with the jspec 6 speed.

So all in all this individual situation ended up leaving this particular customer satisfied. I am not happy that I had to go through all this crap to get warranty work done, but at this point I can't complain and I owe to the dealership and the district rep to report praise the same as I do complaint.

However, I am still not happy with the fact that we can't race a car that was marketed as a race car without voiding warranty and I am still going to press on with this issue as far as I/We can go.

This all sounds so familiar it's sad. I remember the 4g63 boards from 10-12 years ago talking about the same thing.

the mitsubishi lawyers who wrote that made it sound like its covered but in reality its not. page 5 says clutch is covered, "excluding normal wear and tear". thats tricky wording. check page 27, it says clutch disc facings are not covered. so if anything on the clutch disc fails, besides the actual facing, then its covered. you have to admire that kind of trickery.

That's why Lexus has the best service, even with a T-66 on my car, they still serviced the car. Though I had no warranty claims.

they r trying to get u to race it....everything they say about it

"...it's the World Rally Championship winner in the flesh"
"This ain't no video game. This is 100% reality"
"Just one question: who will be your co-driver?"
"every shape, every crease, every c urve is the direct result of painstaking research into precisely what will achieve optimum high-velocity performance."

also they basically beg u to street race them on www.mitsubishistreet.com (that should be right)
