Question questions: rusty evo?; blue evo? $evo?

Why do all the new EVOs have rusty engines? - apparently not aluminum

Finally decided on a blue EVO - can't find one - are they rare, or is this just a coincidenc?

Dealer said incentives were over as of Tuesday AM; will I still be able to get invoice or below in next few months?

The block is cast iron but I've only seen the heat shield get a little rusty on new Evos. Water is allowed to drip directly on it from the hood vents.

It's probably the heat shield your seeing, but it's only surface rust. No big deal. You can paint or get a nice SS aftermarket piece.

Most certainly does, at least on the surface. It would take a while to rust through an engine block (Titanic?). I was assuming what he would see from the engine bay. I doubt he could see the engine block rust.

Where are you located? A local dealer, Lou Fusz Mitsubishi, located here in the St.Louis area has/had a blue on the showroom floor just recently. Let me kno if you need me to check on the availability!

Of course when I was looking for a blue one, nobody in St Louis was getting one.

Thanks for all the help! My maxima is doing well, so I'll probably tell him to find me a blue one, and I'll buy it if he can still sell for invoice (hearing cruise may be coming 2004, may wait but I doubt it)
