6 inches? WOW... My kia sportage is all over the road with less than 1 inch. Maybe I should just buy the tires for the EVO...

my Evo was a deathtrap in just .01" of snow. i couldnt make it 3 blocks. the car doesnt even pull off from the curb, just goes sideways!! although i must admit i still have the OEM advans.

my Audi on the other hand, is a blast in the snow ! even with summer tires it held the road just fine, which was shocking! i guess the diff is in the AWd systems... hmm

Let it be said that an EVO on Blizzaks has taken down a snowmobile in a drag race before....(not mine but another local EVO owner....)

We're just starting to get some snow here in Michigan, I got my evo about a week ago, had its first snow day 3 days after I got it. That morning of work I took my dads blazer to work worried about salt and snow and such. The blazer was horrible in the snow, I was all over the place. So I said f**k it, went home at lunch, grabbed my evo and headed out.

Went to the gas station just fine, then decided to take the long way, through neighborhoods etc. Got excited and started taking turns to fast thought I was about to knick the curb when I gassed it a little bit, got traction back and was safe.

I was able to take Michigan U-Turns at about 25 mph and end up in the left lane. Got back to work and went to the top of the parking structure and mapped out a drift course in my head.

Evo + snow = godly

Stock Advans are quite possibly the worst available tire for snow ever made, anything under 40 deegres they feel like your on ice possibly thats why they warn you not to drive on them in winter, even so the qauttro is a better system for snow as it has electronic control versus mechanical,,,, my 2 cents but pleeeeeeeze dont drive that evo on those tires anymore in winter dont need to add one to the RIP section

^ u dont have to tell me, i lived through it!
i live 12min away from my office. well one day last Feb, light snow fell out during the day. it only snowed for like an hour... well my commute home took me almost an hour, during which i truly, honestly thought i was gonna crash 45 times. from a rest, the car only rolled sideways, and when i pushed the brake pedal, it would violently vibrate for a sec, and then Abs would give up and totally turn off, and the wheels would lock. truly the scariest ride of my life - EVER!
i posted about this back then, and got flamed for "rollin on Advans past the month of October"...

the good thing is, well bad if u love snow (like me) is that in NYC, it usually snows like twice the whole winter, and the snow melts within hours

I agree... I'm on Kumho ASXs and enjoy the all around capability of the tire. They are no snow tires, but seem to do just fine in it.

i have eagle GT all-season and i wished i had more grip...

that said, i tried to drive my 350z w/ stock summer tires last night on some snow and it was so ridiculously slippery that i ended up parking it beside the street and walked away.

^ before the Evo, my DD was a G35 coupe, but had allseasons. it performed above expecations, in the same light snow or slippery roads that made me say my final prayers in the Evo. the awd did absolutely nothing in terms of pulling out from a stop, or accelerating even to 15mph. Evo only went sideways, with the tail always pulling out, no matter how gently i tried to slip the clutch...

btw, did any of you swap rubber onto the Oem BBS wheels ? or u all just get a second set of wheels for the winter ?? cause i know what would happen to my polished BBS's - the tire shop will ruin the rim and scratch off the polish while putting on the winter tires!
