^^There are some Evo 8 wheels for sale for cheap on this site... I'd just do that. I roll my stock 9 wheels for winter, stock 8 with race rubber, and my Ray's 18s for DD summer. It's really easy that way!

BTW... you'll love driving the evo in the snow, once you get some proper winter tires on there!

My recent trip out in the snow:

The only thing I've found that I don't like about taking the Evo out in the snow is, when the snow gets packed into the wheels, it freezes solid and freezes the wheels to the brakes/rotors.

Snow in SE Louisiana

I am one of those guys that doesn't drive the Evo much and it never comes out in the rain it just lives nice and warm in the garage. Well today we got the once every 4-5 year snow in SE Louisiana so I took it out for a photo. I drove it alittle around the neighbor on the advans just to say I have driven my evo in the snow as little as it may have been.

I HATE ALL YOU 2-sets-of-wheels-having ****'s!!

i wanna drive my EVO in the snow too!! well, i suppose it would first have to actually snow more than once in 4 years in NYC (which is why its a waste of money to even buy winter rubber to begin with)

I have Blizzacks, and Saturday was my first time taking the EVO in the snow, and it's insane how much tires matter in snow. I literally could break hard in the powder, and not slide much, and I was going around cars stuck on a steep hill, absolutely no sliding, spinning, nothing. came to a stop on a steep hill, talked to a guy who was stuck, he told me to turn around because it's frozen, and I said "Ok, see ya", and just went up the hill with no effort. Then spent all night at a parking lot sliding with an STI, and GTI, and got some footage of my friend driving my car while I filmed... Just one badly curbed rim, but it's ok. I'll post the footage after finals week is over.

Terrible experience this morning. I turned left and had to turn right after about 100 ft, so by the time I saw the turn (covered in snow/ice) I was already at about 25mph, so I started slowing down, but still managed to slide a bit and nearly swung the back end into an oncoming truck. Ugh. I just got the car Tuesday, and that was too close. I need to pick up some snow tires or drive my cavalier.

Drive the cavalier! I had a bad winter experience last winter with my EVO and I am not so sure this thing handles well at all in the snow. Of course, it would be the wide width tires that were on the car, but still I was not happy with the performance of the evo in the snow.

put snow tires on, then re evaluate that. Like I stated earlier, I felt like I was in my parent's new Cherokee when I put the snow tires on my evo, it drives with no sliding anywhere I wanted, best day ever.

TIRES TIRES TIRES people! Even a Texan knows you're a fool to take any car out in the snow on summer rubber. Might as well be on a sheet of ice with Hoosier slicks. We get a little snow every few years. However, we get ice days every year. Whole county shuts down and the sides of the roads are littered with the carnage. First year on my Evos OE rubber, I almost didn't make it to the corner store. Then next year with a better tire, strolled passed all the Bubba's in their 4x4 pickem up trucks with ease.

In my defense, I was told the tires were "all weather" so I figured I would give them a shot in the snow. Now I know "all weather" means get some damn snow tires when it snows.

i don't have 2 sets of wheels but i do have 2 sets of rubber. I have goodyear eagle F-1's for the summer and these bad ****'s in the winter Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi

they are probably THE best studless tire I have personally driven on.
