I'm just past my 1 year anniversary and I have absolutely no intentions of ever parting ways with my beloved sedan.

Lol, what's wrong with a guy in his 40's driving a Supra or Grand National and I've seen several of these "old guys" around. They are just car enthusiasts like the rest of us and that's how I "view" them. I'm in my 40's and have been wrenching on my cars for over 25 years, very few people touch my car except me. You might feel funny saying your comment to someone like Dave Buschur who's in his 40's and drives one of the baddest Evo's in this country. In the end I'll be playing with cars as long as I have my health and can still drive.

When I was living in CT, and I got my evo 1 I loved it, but it was my rally and ice race car. Thought Id keep it for a long time, then sold it, then I got my evo 2, loved it even more, wanted it forever, then sold it, then my evo 4 came along, ditto, you know what happened!, then I got my Ralliart built evo 5 RS, the first week we got that, off the Ny docks out of the container brand new we did the One lap of America, then did hillclimbs on the east coast, then did road racing with it and rallying and thought Id never get rid of it it was too good, rewarding, it was like a true athlete swinging from one racing disciplin/triathlon to the next without a bother and left everyone in their wake. Sold it to an irishman who had 40,000 good reasons to sell it. now I have an evo 8 and didnt like it much, and thought I wont keep this long, use it, race it (caged, seats harnesses etc, it now has), and Ive now had it the longest of all my cars and it was the car I thought Id get rid of the soonest.

Shows to go ya!

Bought my 03 used in 04, so my 5 years is just about up, so it will be nice to be without that car payment and I am in no rush to get another one. My 14 year old daughter asked me the other day if she could have the EVO when she starts driving! LOL!

The main reason I'm not keeping my VIII forever is because all I know about car repair is to take it to AMS. And with 100K miles those trips are occurring more often than I'd like.

I also like having the best car that I can can afford when it's time to get a new car. We all know the props the VIII received when it came out in 2003. The X has been named the #8 car by Motor Trend http://tinyurl.com/bd5fj3 . I like knowing that my car is one of the best cars out there as opposed to a car that *used* to be a hot car. My next new car will be an X and I'll keep getting top cars till I drop dead.

I just paid off my VIII in Jan, only got 54k miles on it, and I love her! My fiancee loves her too, and doesn't want me to get rid of it. She actually wants to get a pink Evo!

I will never get rid of it. In the next year or 2 I'll buy some cheap daily driver and use the VIII as a weekend car. After all the fun and mods I've put into it, I can't afford to buy another car as fast as the Evo is now. If something goes out on it I'm just gonna upgrade it.

Now that's what I'm taking about.

Go ahead and get the girlie a pink one. (Of course you will have to custom paint it)

I had my car for over a year and a half and I dont think I will ever part with it! It has always been my dream car. From the first day I drove it, that feeling you get, I still get that same feeling when driving it! Maybe when time comes I may buy another car, but the evo will still be by my side and still be my first choice!
