safc-ii: difference between standard and limited

Is the only difference the face color (silver/blue or black)?

Also is the limited only offered in the JDM version, and if so, does the JDM version use metric measurements only? Does the USDM go with "standard" measurements?

Is there a JDM AVC-R or only 1 AVC-R version? Does that read in metric as well?

Thanks!

-Chris

The backlit has a different color. Limited edition got a white backlit. Regular edition got a blue backlit. Other than this, you get englist manual for US version and japanese manual for JDM version. If you concern about warranty, you get 1 year warranty for the US version if you purchase through authorized dealer.

As of AVC-R, there is 2 version. There is an old version and the new version. New version looks like SAFC with screen + buttons. Old version has a knob for settings. You can really tell the difference. It's metric. I need to memorize this formula. 1 bar = 14.5 psi.

Hope this help.

Thanks a lot. Any pics of the limited lit up by chance? I'm gonna google it up. Also is there a USDM Limited version or only JDM?

I have a JDM limited edition install. You find the picture when you click on the link below.

Personally, I like the white backlit. I have some problem with the blue backlit. So, I hide my AVC-R away so I can't see it.

Awesome, thanks very much. I think I'll stick to the USDM standard version just to keep the warranty.

BTW what brand boost gauge is that? Very nice looking, good mounting point too. I'm going to try to just have 1 or 2 mounted gauges (boost + coolant temp), and fabricate something to hold everything else (EGT, oil pressure, fuel pressure).

Another question: what adapters to you need with the AVC-R, if any? I keep seeing pressure adapters and such for sale. What does it come with out of the box?

Everything you need to hook up the AVC-R is in the box. You will have a pressure sensor, a solenoid, vacuum hose, T fitting.

You will need some 3/16 rubber plug. You can easily pick this up on any auto part store or home depot/similar.

During installation, you need to find 2 mounting point for the sensor and solenoid. I fabricated some mounting bracket for the sensor and solenoid. The sensor is mount nearby the engine firewall (passenger side) and the solenoid is mount next to the factory solenoid, underneat the HKS intake kit.

Buschur racing sells them as well, they can't keep them on the shelves as they come with GREAT tuning points for up to 20PSI/Intake/Full exhaust/ and upper IC Pipe and BOV.

If you just get the SAFC you'll still make power just be a lil more rich.

Just in case if it hasn't been brought up before. Limited edition SAFC-2 comes with a tuning menu (in Japanese) as well... It's in Japanese but they got chassis code (CT9A) for Evo 7/8 so it's not too bad.
