How will pruven Evo do in SCC USCC?

. The kits use only the best stuff (the cats come from Porsche Motersports etc) so the components cost an amazing amount compaired to what we are used to. By they way they have sold (at last count) over 50 full blown stage three kits all over the world...

I apologize if what I said looked like I was discrediting Authority. I was only complaining about how expensive it is. I know it's a work of art and that Autothority is a very professional shop. But I sort of have the money, and I was thinking of buying another CAR instead of modding my porsche... maybe if someone let's me drive one, i will change my mind. I mean for 50k, I can BUY an EVO and TUNE it to 720hp(Autothority goes by flywheel hp, so it would only be like 600whp). one of these days I will do something to my p car.
Omeezy, I love vipers but I think Vipers w/o abs has miserable braking distance, and from what I know, Viper is UNCOMFORTABLE. but hey, isn't that why we love it? It takes freaking 30sec just to GET IN saleen S7!!! uncomfortable, but LOVABLE!!!
I think this thread is becoming officially hijacked. Last I checked the thread's title wasn't do vipers suck? :-P ...... anyways, I, for one, am REALLY looking forward to seeing Pruven's performance on the track. And not just the Pruven Evo but all the cars as they are all going to be awesome cars racing there. Ok there's my post - David
The funny thing about the SCC comparison, is it isn't sport compacts any more, Supras, 360 Modenas, aren't compact. They're huge. SCC isn't about CRX's and Cavaliers. It's hard to consider an Evo, or STi and a compact car.
According to the completely screwed up EPA, cars are totally fubed in classes.
an NSX is a subcompact???

An Impala is a Large Car??? thr Evo is bigger and has more interior room than an impala! The EPA listing is bogus and worthless.

Here's a post from Freshalloy.com, so far a Supra is in the lead by 6 points, followed by the GTR, the Viper is in 4th, there's no mention of the Evo at all. They didnt even say it's there, just two GSXs. The Supra is in lead, however they start the performance tests tomorrow, and that's where it will lose it's grip mainly due to the fact they cant launch on street tires.
We're doing okay.
She pulled 661WHP STD... No nitrous, no methanol- just clean boost. We only needed one run to get that power. That placed us a very close third to the Viper and red Supra. For power we placed 2nd- bettered only by the Viper. Strange thing though- we were the only ones who exceeded expectations- everyone else was having difficulties putting power down.
I can't remember the specifics- but I do remember only getting 7th(!!) for the car show. Oh well... not much of a car show guy.
Grandma loved the Skyline GT-R... not as much as James' 350Z... but good enough to get us back in the running...
Shiv gave us more points on the usablity score too- more than the Viper...
Guru panel wasn't finished tallying the points. I hope the gurus find it in their hearts to give me a good score.
Danny- you'll love this! I was driving Sean's dually while he and a fellow competitor was drafting behind... Managed to get over 27mpg!!! The guy who drafted with us was another Supra- and he managed over 38mpg!
Trueleo MR2 dropped out with a bad head gasket. They spun their motor to over 9800rpm on the dyno. Ouch! Hope you guys get it back together soon.
So... at the end of the current points tally, we're 2nd overall, 6 points behind the Fuzion Supra, and a bit farther up on the Axis 350Z. Believe it or not, the 900WHP Viper is lying in fourth quite far back! Tomorrow will change the standings quite a bit. We knew we weren't too strong today, and tomorrow should be interesting. Fuzion's Supra is on Pirelli P-Zero Asymetricos... not a competitive tire when the sharp end is using a Hoosier.
FYI we trailered the car to Streets for testing. The trailer is not being used for USCC, but I don't like using Hoosiers on public roads.
Like I said in the video interview for USCC, as long as we meet our targets the rest will take care of itself. So far, so good

The posts over at Fresh alloy about the SCCA "stock" class in autocross, trailering a street car to this "competiton" and the use of hoosier tires for a "street" car are pretty funny though. They definately need to get some proper rules in place to better judge real street cars. Most of those cars would not pass an state vehicle inspection...
