hey modena, you are very mature on your posts that i have a new repect for internet forum in general!!! someone calls you a loser and you calmly respond!!! when i first posted about viper, i was expecting immature responses like name-calling, umm.. like from AL! it's good to know i can have an intelligent conversation about the cars i like, at least w/ you anyway. here it goes.

if i get a viper, it's not because i think it has ANYTHING to do w/ f1. v10 in viper is as far away from f1 as honda insight engine. only car i'd compare to f1 is enzo. maybe i will add slr too my list soon.

firstly, let's talk stock for stock. i think viper is inherently(as in stock) just "better car." it's more rare, has more hp, turns(on skidpad anyway) better. i know evo will beat it in many categories too, like braking. but in my opinion they are in a different league to begin w/. Viper is the Best american car(sorry vette fans), Evo is the best Japanese car(currently in US). but even the best japanese car really can't run w/ other supercars. i know someone will say, "a modded EVO will run circles around blah blah from roll... blah blah" look at my first sentense of this paragraph. let's talk stock!!! there are many cars that are inherently(ie stock) in a different league. skylines, vipers, vette, modenas, porsche(gt3 or turbo, no boxsters), and lambo are all in supercar league, in performance. EVO is simply not there.

okay, it's evo forum so enough evo bashing(before i get banned or something). i like Evo for what it is. it's the best damn car for 30k. even if i mod it to 600whp, i'm not gonna pretend i have a supercar. just super fast car.(similarly, if i have a 1000hp viper, i won't pretend that i have a "better" car than a ferrari enzo) i love the idea of running w/ inherently faster cars in a underdog like Evo. that's why i want one. i like it for what it is. i compare stock because any car can be fast modded. isn't there a geo metro that runs 12s???

i think it's quite stupid to point out that Evo w/ mod will go faster than viper for LESS MONEY! soon some idiot in his h22 turbo crx will say, "i bought the car used for 200bucks and got a used h22 and i have 10sec setup for 5 grand!!! i'm better than all you stupid evo owner who paid 30k for 13sec car!!! muhahaha" i don't think we should stoop down to that level. bragging about doing something for cheap sounds stupid to me. i'd rather see someone brag about a good job/education they have to be able to afford expensive mods or cars. that's why i give props to al for his car despite his unpleasant comments. if he's got the cash, more power to him. i'm sure he's earned it the hard way. it's not like he's a drug dealer, he has every right to be proud of spending his own cash that he's EARNED. no one should say, "anyone w/ cash can do what he does! so he's dumb" for the people that said such things i ask, DO YOU HAVE THE CASH? DO YOU? well, i thought so.

i have such horrible writing style that i doubt you got all my pts. but basically, they are two different cars, and i love them both for different reasons.

if every viper owner you met were insecure, that does not mean it's 99.9% for the argument, i've only met cool viper owners. so then, it at least makes 50% of all viper owners insecure(namely ones you met) and the other 50% cool(ones i met).

you are also incorrect about viper owners wanting to showoff. if w/ go w/ your own rules, you are a serious showoff yourself. Modified mag mentioned that you owned NSXs and SL600. is that showing off, just cuz your nsx and sl600 is slower than your own EVO?

you make it sound like no one should buy a nice car, or they are showing off. well, i like the way ferrari's look, and if i ever get one, it would be to please myself, and not others. but then, you'd call me a showoff in a slow car wouldn't you?

a car doesn't automatically make anyone a showoff. a person that talks about his/her car in an arrogant way is what showoff really is.

The reson why the viper is a show off's car is becuase it is a crude - ILL made - poorly functioning POS that has no redeeming value other than making noise and showing off

 

al, that's not called a reason. it's called an opinion. also if you read your post, it refers to itself as reason by saying that viper is a showoff's car because it's only good for showoff... not a very good reasoning.

even if viper was crude and poorly functioning(at what? at being a luxury car? it sure is good at being fast), those two alone don't make it a showoff's car.

did you have a viper and got sick of it breaking down? were you a victim of viper hit and run? why on earth would you hate this car so much?

i suppose you hate lambo's too. they are crude, loud, and poor functioning when cold. and it's probably showoff's car as well.

btw, you didn't answer me on this. you are a showoff too for owning sl600 right? and NSX? definitely showoff! maybe then showoff isn't so bad...

 

Both the nsx and the sl600 are very well made cars that you can easily use on a daily basis and both of which are fine examples of automotive engineering

 

well i can talk about one viper owner that shure talks about his car in a verry arrogant way as if his viper was the biggest thing in the world.

me personally i hate those rod-pushing, overgrown, exagerated and useless pieces of metalic waste.

First of all as an evo lover and an viper owner I'm hurt. The viper is a beautiful car that handles EXTEMELY well just check any motortrend test. the new srt brakes are insane by the way. And i would sure like to know what makes the car so ill made. Because my car is a 99 and is quite modded and the biggest problem had was a blown fuse for the brake light. Also you said you beat a viper from a roll??? hmm theres only 2 ways that could have happend, 1 you're modded like hell (more than likely) and the viper was bone stock 2. you're modded like hell and the viper driver was horrible and more than likely sleeping. lol.
I tell you what, why don't you run me, I'm pretty sure i'll destroy you, I'd probally beat you in revrse. Sorry not to be cocky and fit the viper owner image that Al made but i absolutly hate when guys talk **** about a car they know so little about. If vipers were soo bad they my friend paul's car wouldn't have one USCC would it. And guess what, my money is on the viper this year too, that or the skyline.

okay, bu that doesn't answer my question on what you have agains tthe viper, all you say is they do nothin but attract attention, but you have yet to give any specific reasons or flaws the viper has that you dislike. And wow 550whp! Thats a powerful evo! but unfortunately i'd still smoke you.

 

Ha ha ha. I don't know if you own a viper or not, but I agree that for the cost of the 3037 turbo upgrade on an EVO (not to mentio all of the other testing and mods that Al is running) that a Viper would smoke an EVO. Also, that 550 WHP was with spray, and also with the CO2 over the intercooler. So even if the EVo could post some good times, it would only happen twice before the CO2 and spray ran out. Then there would only be a turbo. Also, if we are talking street gas, another 50 hp gets looped off the EVO. I would put all of my money on a viper with 7,000 in mods over just about any EVO that didn't ring up a price tag that cost more than the viper.

 

come on, don't listen to the things these people say. viper is a great, no AWESOME car. Al's car on 91 octane will probably lose to a stock viper running 91 octane. he always makes up races he CAN win. like, rolling start to quarter mile and such. al, i wanna see you take on a viper on standing mile on pump gas. or how about just a freeway race? what? you will top out at 165mph ? okay, i guess then we know who the winner is... the point is, Modded Evo will win some type of race, namely ones requiring quick hook-up. viper will destroy it in anything requiring pure speed.(long straight track, and mile run, etc)

i like evo and i like vipers. Evo owners talking crap about viper doesn't make any sense to me. it's probably cuz they never drove it. i don't know why people hate american cars so much. why? personally i REALLY hated mustangs, but SVT Cobra impresses me. you gotta give credit where it's due.

AL, if 10 cylinder running slower than your 4 cylinder is funny to you. look how stupid you will look when you v12 sl600 can't take your own EVO w/ 12 Cylinders, NO LESS!!! basically, it's not all about who has the least cylinders. v10 is what makes the VIPER what it is.

hey, modenatwin, i was hugely dissappointed in your comment. you shouldn't talk crap about cars you don't own or have driven enough. one owner doesn't represent all the people that own viper. are all evo owners ignorant? i know one owner that is completely ignorant about vipers(AL that's you). Every car has at least one owner that will give it a bad name. shouldn't take it out on the rest of the people.

I drove Pauls car during last year's USCC and I gotta say it was brilliant. I never really appreciated Vipers until I drove it. Really well sorted and wickedly quick. 500+whp coming from a naturally aspirated motor running 91 octane is nothing to sneeze at Of course, it didn't hurt that Pauls a damn good shoe.
