I wont be able to make it to any of them probably! The shootout is 8 hrs away and the e-town is 11hrs away. Cant make it!! If I were to choose, I would go where ever ShepRacing goes! I always enjoy talking to shep and what hes been doing, with the first inspiration of mine, That BADASS 1G!!!

I already posted a link to the video showing all the people there

Yet you keep saying the same thing

NO ONE benefits by the events being held on the same day - OTHER tahn the guy who is trying to make a point - he gets to make his point and the racers anbd fans suffer

Bull**** Al, you proved nothing. A video of a bunch of people can not tell me how many people went in August and AGAIN in October!!!

there is usually a lot of people that show up to the august event... however I went to the rescheduled event in october that year and while there was a lot of people, it wasn't nearly as many as it usually is.

I have no allegiance to either shop but WTF would you do it on the same day for?

That doesn't really benefit you or Buschur, it's just a poorly conceived concept. This isn't the rap game, conflict & beef's don't sell parts they just expose childishness. Even if your main goal was to be childish it clearly proves your business sense is flawed.

Either way you'd get a better turnout if you scheduled it on a different date, you'd please a lot of the community who would rather attend both events and I'm sure you'd have a lot more sponsors to back you which would result in higher payouts/prizes ect...

I will be coming from Vegas and will be Ohio.

What is sad in my eyes is that money is givin out, it wasnt needed before so why now? I could careless about money or whatever else is givin out. Sure I won cash lastyear but in all honisty I could care less what I win, I just come out to race and have a good time its what matters the most to me as it should for everyone else aswell, If I win so be it if not so be it.

TTR you having your event on the same weekend is... well I cant say here

Keep in mind the new "NJ" even is a combination of two events which have been held for the past 6 years

1 - Turbo Trixs Mitsubishi Day

2 - Dyno Flash started "WRX vs. EVO Shotout"

Both of which have been well attended in past years with well known racers wuch as

Big Valley
AMS
Pruven
Boost Solutuions (former)
Sean Ivey
Top level

Etc, Etc

All supporting and attending

All that has changed this year is that two big popular events - both held at Old Bridge, NJ have been shifted to the same day as one event and

That it conflicts - intentionally - with the Ohio event

While I can fully understand where Keith a/k/a Bean is comming from with his feelings and thoughts, under the present economic situation I feel that the members of the racing community can not afford the luxury of any vendettas which compromise the long term viability of our sport

I note for those who have not followed my previous posts on this subject the following

Import drag racing in the last 6 - 7 years has gone from a really hot, exciting and viable sport and industry to a total free fall

NHRA and NOPI series have been canceled

Major race teams are no longer in existance

Major magazines which cover our sport are no longer in existance - e.g. Turbo Magazine, ect.

My thoughts are that the intentional division of the AWD DSM racing community into two fighting camps will result in significant damage and harm to what is left of our sport. The previous happy, fun and comming together feeling of both the Turbo Trixs and Buschur events which left all that attended with great happy feelings and a feeling to come back the following year is going to be replaced with a lot of us vs. them and a lot of pulling apart and tenstions which are totally not needed.

I feel that when there is an event everyone with a committment to the sport should do what ever is possible to make it out and attend - which is why I make an effort to get there

I ask everyone reading to mark May 30, 2009 in Beaver Springs on your calendar and try to come out and support a new event at a great track which previously hosted the East Coast Subaru Shootout and was where I won the event in its first year against TX's with my forst 11.88 in a STI (2002). I promise you that the track is in a very beautiful and country setting and is run by a really stand up and cool guy - Beaver Bob. Please show your support for our sport and community by making it the event.

I have expended a lot of effort on this to try and convince the various parties to do the right thing and move the NJ event to another date

I contacted the track in NJ

I contacted Buschur to see if the date could be changed on his end - to his credit his event is on the same weekend every year for the past 18 years and the track had already sent out fliers to over 150,000 people with the entire schedule printed out

Anyone who disagrees with this decision, I encourage you to contact the following and express your thoughts

Javier Ortega - Director of Import Racing

Phone:
732.446.7800

email:
info@etownraceway.com

Via postal mail at:
Raceway Park
230 Pension Road
Englishtown, NJ 07726

Those who care about our sport and community should let it be known that we find it totally objectionable that the NJ facility would allow itself to be used as a vehicle to advance a shop to shop rivalry and "make a point" at the expense of the quality and attendance at our racing events

Given that both tracks are NHRA member tracks I find this kind of behavior to be very regretable and contrary to the sprit and purpose of the NHRA. As a NHRA member and active competition license holder, I am very disappointed at this turn of events.
