I think really what the OP is saying he is over the race car for the street thing and wants something you can drive everyday comfortably without having to yell over the exhaust, your spine crushed on every pothole or have every jerkoff in a civic or SRT4 trying to race you but, still have some fun driving. That's pretty much where I was.

I say do it, get it out of your system, and then buy another once you regret it

This might be a shock to you but, not everyone regrets selling their Evo. It just seems that way because this is an Evo site and the ones who do come back while most of the ones who don't miss it don't.

I'm here mostly for the OT

My opinion on this. . . . .

I was in the same boat and went to Luxury cars, then sports cars, SUV's ect trying to grow up.
I ended back into a loud turbo 4cyl. lol
I think people prob look at me funny and its not the most comfortable car in the world, but its a blast to drive and keep me content.
When you drive something plain jane for a while, you will know what im talking about.

my Evo isnt my DD yet, but will be come end of summer time. Im sure I will prob miss my comfort bits, but will be made up with the adrenaline from boost. lol

Don't sell the Evo if you're only reason is to grow up. There are plenty of Evo owners in their 30s and beyond. Keep it if it suits your driving style.

But if you're tired of the noise and sporty ride and just want something more refined, then that's ok too. But only you can decide for yourself.

Good luck.

What a foolish statement!!

There is no 100% right answer here. For me I wanted a car with the total package looks, handling, amenities, and pump gas power. The Z06 fit that bill better than anything else at a price I could afford.

To me the EVO can be made into a better autocross car, short track car, even a better 9 second car, definitely a better street race type car. It is not better at delivering the total package though. Especially when pump gas, leather, amenities, looks, etc are factored in.

It's all personal preference in the end though, so to the OP make your own decison. Where the EVO made me feel looks, interior, exhaust noise, boyracer image, race gas, street manners. The Z06 shines I'm going to ride in a 670whp pump gas C6 Z06 next week!!

Again, if I wanted a dedicated street race type car and that's it or a dedicated track car the EVO would still be my favorite. For a all around sports car with killer looks and all the bells and whistles I made my choice and it's clear to me which car is better at that.

FWIW, I'll be spending a little $$$$ on the Z06 putting it around 560whp on pump gas. Should trap 133-135mph and that is good enough for me with all the bells and whistles.

Yeah, I have NO IDEA what I'm going to do. I'm going to think about it over the next few weeks and decide.

Is there something wrong with the Evo for long tracks?

Care to elaborate on that? Cause compared to my Evo it rides like a Rolls even with the sport package and RFT's while still having pretty decent handling IMO.

+1

I went from an e46 325i to a B7 A4 and now I'm driving the evo. Those cars were boring and driving was mediocre.

Just because you make a bit more than you used to doesn't mean you have to blow it all on a car society implies you should own. BTW most people lease those cars because of the fact that in 3 years both will have already depreciated to half their original value.

Both luxury cars I've owned were very nice, very comfortable and I received all sorts of compliments but to be honest if you're looking for a luxury car for the status then you're trying to impress the wrong people.
