Thinking of selling EvO
idk personally i would prolly look at used 07-09 bmw 1 series and 3 series and try to keep the evo if u think giving it up is gonna be hard bmw is offering 1.9% financing idk how into used cars u r but if u can keep the evo and have luxury car to drive during the week for cheaper i;d be all for it
I had this issue about a year and a half ago and to be honest I really haven't missed my Evo that much. I drove everything under the sun trying to find an acceptable ratio of sportiness vs luxury and the 335 fit that very well. I would find myself missing it every once in a while on a back road but, that's mostly because it took me a little while to feel like I could wind out the 335 without feeling like I was beating on it.
I was very disappointed in the Audi driving experience. The car looks great and has a nice interior but, just isn't very involving to drive and can't compete with the power the 335 puts out. The latest body style is better but still not the car the 335 is IMO.
If you do get the 335 consider doing euro delivery. It saves you a few bucks and makes the car all that much more special to you.
I would also consider a CPO'd E55 if I were in the market right now. You can get them for the low 40's.

My own suggestion: I agree with the aforementioned. Id test drive as much as possible that fits your criteria. For me, its leather, sound, and awd that are musts for me. Thereafter its dependent upon each car individually.
Good luck with whatever you do!
My mother drives a 335xi It's nice as hell, and has comparable 0-60 and 1/4 mile times to the evos. however, it just is not the same, but if you're looking for something more luxury go with 335xi over the new a4, the a4's handling is much sloppier compared to bmw's. I know this because I just helped my parents choose between the two.
im 26 when i turned 23 i bought a new a4 ...sucked .... year later got a m3 and almost loved it ... now with the evo as a dd id rather have the m3 but im sticking with the evo for now peace of mind and speed
You should never feel that you are maturing or "out growing" something that makes you happy. Impressing other people via a car is somewhat absurd in the first place as you are the owner and the one paying gobs of money for it. We have had several sporty BMWs in our family including the current 2007 530i (6 speed! very nice car). But... the last reason I would ever drive it is to look a certain way. Where I live a BMW is considered (by the throngs of yuppies) barely a step above a commuter car, they are as as plentiful as any other car on the road, and they only impress people who have never had one.
Maturity is being comfortable in your own skin and with your own desires. If you love your Evo, don't even think about conforming to something that's not worth conforming to. BMWs have great lines, are comfortable, and surprisingly thrifty on gas with a stick, but they don't give you nearly the feedback that you get with an evo. I understand the huge (and totally obnoxious) wing on the evo and loud exhaust is a bit childish in the eyes of many, but you can still build a great car without those two things. I have seen several low wing, stock exhaust, very quick evos that really fit the daily driver bill perfectly.
You must have some good reasons for getting out of an evo, and I totally respect those. But, if this is an issue, don't get out of the evo for superficial reasons. There are so many insecure, childish, pompous ****** in Washington DC driving bmw, porsche, Mercedes etc that you would be a fool to look at someones car around here and think they are more grown up because of it.
Your car should satisfy something inside you, instead of acting as a method of projecting yourself.

WOW!! Feel blown away yet??? I am 34, I understand completely what you are going through because I have been going through it for the better part of two years now... But I have to admit now that I have gotten closer to the full modded Evo experiance, and felt what a true nasty car the modded Evo can be I don't think I will ever be able to sell her!! Simply an amazing amazing vehicle! However that being said, I drive 35 miles to work one way, and don't want to shift anymore going to work, don't want the potholes to rattle my fillings, don't want all the nasty looks from the older people when I shift and small explosion fires from beneath the hood and out the tailpipe!! My solution: and I highly recomend it if you can afford it, Made the car a weekend warrior and track dominator, and bought a Jeep Cherokee SRT8... What a mind blower!! All the comfort, all the amenities, 4X4, and 4.5 0-60!!! With the current depressed market you can oick up an 07 or 08 for less than 30k and fullfill both your wild destroy everybody side with a fire breathing Evo, and your mature successful side with the SRT8... And let me tell I LOVE my Jeep, and I LOVE my Evo!! Prob solved!! Hope this helps, but do what makes you happy and don't let morons determine anything for you!!! Good Luck!

I felt this exact same way!! Had 15K+ in parts and then just got tired of the stereotype, the look, the lack of amenities, it was fun to go fast but that's where the fun ended. I outgrew the car!!
My replacement was a 08' Z06 and I LOVE THE CAR it looks great, drives great, has amenities, is fast for a stock car. The amount of compliments I get are unreal. Everyone from neighbors, co-workers, Sonic cashiers, random people screaming nice car.
The EVO will always be a great performance car it will always be a street terror. With that being said the Z06 is in a whole other league.......even if it's not the "street terror" a EVO can be.
I wouldn't trade back for any EVO!!
Here is my EVO vs Z06 Review.

There is only roughly 130lbs difference between the two. Some magazines have actually suggested the 335 is the better track car because of the better gearing and the added stability of the longer wheelbase but, IMO if you are going to compare either to the Evo you need to look at more than performance.
One thing to consider is if the OP ever actually has to use the backseat. The 135 has one but, I couldn't fit back there very well. Also, there is the option of AWD in the 3 and not in the 1er if you live somewhere you may actually need it.
Jeep is not owned by GM.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Greatly appreciate your time. the 1 series is not an option. Don't really dig the 2 door schene. I'm 6'1" 220lbs +. I need a bigger car than a 1 series. Plus I have a 9 year old son. Need 4 doors.
IDK fellas. All your points are valid.

Dont buy a car because of how other people look at you, next stop ricerville (see my sig)
Id buy a **** missile to go from A to B.
Thats what our Jetta is. Ive put maybe 2,000 miles on the evo in a year, because I drive it for fun.
And when modding the E90 335i, be careful, that can void the warranty (I work at a BMW dealer).
I wouldnt buy a vette, just because of the crappy GM interior.
Everybodys different.

Its funny.. at the track this past saturday, some older guy with a 06 z06 wanted to trade cars with me. He couldnt get his pile to go faster then 12.50's, he said the car had some mods too, and there I was going 11.70-11.90 ALL day.
For me, the z06 WAS probably the only car I would ditch my evo for. After experiencing them for a little while I changed my mind. Now the only car I would maybe give the evo up for is a GTR or a 911 turbo, I love driving both of those cars. But if I had an evo worth 70-120 grand and it was still a semi "practical" street car, it would be a different story.
The only thing you can do is take the cars of interest on very long test drives and go from there. You will figure it out.
