Two guys, two mods, and a tune... in the 11's
So, So, So close again. 12.09, 12.07, 12.03 with our highest 1/8th mph to date of 89.77mph. Also, good 1/4 mph's of 112.57, 112.15. The 60's still seem to be elusive. Best of 1.67 with 1.72 and 1.79 with the 1.79 being on the12.07 run. Easy to see how the 11 should pop up any time now. The 1.67 was into a 6 mph head wind with temps logging at 93-103 degrees. Humidity is 52 %, so the weather did not co-operate at all. Still, we've been trying our best on the BFG's, we just can't seem to get the needed traction. Every time I raise the 2step, the tires hook for a short moment, then spin. We've tried tire psi's of everything from 20-28.5 with the best 60's being at 26 psi tonight.
Tomorrow, we'll drive 127 miles north to pick up the new Hoosier's for testing. We'll then drive back, get them mounted on the same wheels and get back to the track for testing. The Hoosier Developement Team will meet us to see the results in person. The elusive 11 is still waiting. One thing for certain, the tune has been consistent, with the driver doing all that can be done,.... to get the job done!
I feel at this point, we've proven that we either don't have enough horsepower to get a 1.5x 60, or the tires just haven't been biting enough. Hopefully, the Hoosiers will Git'er Done tomorrow night.
Out of curiosity, I ran the results through the drag computer using current weather conditions and the ET's corrected to 11.8-11.84 and MPH's corrected to a best of 114.6 mph. Now, if we could just get the right conditions at the track. I think the DA was something in the 2400+ altitude. Still, all in all, we're making slightly more horsepower each time. Unfortunately, we're also getting slightly worst conditions each time. Maybe tomorrow night. At least we have some new tires to test and slobber over.

so close!!! man i would be jumping for joy if i had those times with my car lol. last time at the track i couldnt hit 25psi was only seeing about 21. really didnt have time to adjust and run again since the track was running slower than normal. they had a test and tune plus bracket racing and motorcycle racing as well.

The new Hoosier drag radials 245/45/17 fit perfect with stock struts. We checked both the 8.5 Volk CE28N's and 8.0 MR BBS wheels. 9sec9 will post up photos later. Getting ready to go to the track tonight with the Hoosier engineers
