The longest you've been without your Evolution.
first i had to wait 5 months for my transfer case and control arms, then valvoline blew my motor a week later, another 2 months, then found out the turbo was bad, another 2 months, finally got everything, finally picked the car up yesterday, drove it 4.1 miles and the throw out bearing got shredded, so now once again its on some jack stands....its seriously driving me insane not being able to drive my car, its the only thing i can use to vent
8 Months on a Iraq, Italy deployment. And now i hear that its running really rich and backfiring at boost.
Thats what happens when you let a nice ride sit. I get back in 4 days. and have no car until i figure out whats going on.

I hate having the car down. Mine was down for 2 weeks as well and it was the longest 2 weeks EVER. I had a rental car and it was awful. Felt like it took forever to get up to speed. If I had the money I would buy another evo just in case mine went in to the shop I would have a backup
my longest was 1year and 4months....just got her back about a month or so ago...i was working on a custom widebody for it....and was always lazy to work on it....but finally i got my *** up and started to do it and finished....lol....and i couldnt choose a color but i finally go it all figured out...and did it...
I was away for 15 months Iraq tour
No after 4 months being back I'm leaving to Korea for 2 years and possibly longer(Job after Amry)
Had evo for 3 years and only drove about year and half
now atleast 2-3 years away from evo.
Hopefully I'll have lowest mileage evo in 5-6 years.

Does buying the car while its apart count? I bought an EVO from a reputable member here that was part of a shop. He had a monster built and then decided to put it back to stock. When I offered him money for his car (+ my bike) we made the deal. He had a stock 26k motor ready to go back in but said his tcase had been sent to Shep once and came back with a seal pushed in (due to shipping). So I paid money to have it sent back to Shep and the transmission for the works. TCase is done but I'm on week 5 of waiting for the transmission. Just spoke to shep and the shop said maybe another 2 weeks to go before he gets to it.
*Sigh*. I have a friend that thinks i should've just took the car as is but I figured if its apart now and a qualified mechanic is willing to put it back together why not get it out of the way now and deal with it (how many horror stories have I seen from new 2nd hand owners that had to fix the dreaded death whine or had a transmission go out shortly after purchase).
I just wanted the insurance. Shep talked me down off the ledge because I was going to tell him just send everything back and I'll pay for the TCase. I know its busniess ofr him but he was of the mind that if I waited this long another 2 weeks isn't going hurt anything and @ least I have the knowledge that the drivetrain will be as bullet proof as possible..
So all in all. currently 5 weeks waiting...another potential 2 weeks for the transmission and then another week to put it back together.
So almost 2 months for a car I haven't driven yet.....yes I know I;m crazy. If I had to di it all over again.....I probably would've tried to find something else...but he's instate, showed me the history of the car.....is pretty qualified to work on evo's. Plus I got a bunch of goodies for the money I saved trading my bike and some cash.
KILLING ME
