Touring is also limited to 1.8 liters.
It would be great to see an EVO out there in the GT class, but most of the other cars are using bigger displacement with forced induction, including the RS6.

Classes: Speed Touring Cars must have a back seat in production form. They can be driven by two or four wheels. Engine displacement limit is 2.8 liters and they must be naturally aspirated (no turbo or super charging). GT cars may have forced induction. There is no limit to displacement and cars may be two-seaters.
Safety Modifications: Each car is equipped with a roll cage, safety harness, fuel cell, a driver's-side window net and an on-board Halon fire extinguishing system. The driver's seat must be replaced with an aftermarket racing-type seat. Drivers must be fitted with an approved head and neck restraint system.
Authorized Modifications: The front passenger seat and rear seats may be removed. Air-conditioning and radio also may be removed. All wiper blades, belts, hoses, filters, gaskets and electrical and ignition system components may be replaced with approved replacement parts. Fuel management is open.
Engine: Engines may be modified as per the Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS) sheet for each make and model. Flywheel and clutch assembly are free, but ring gear must be of original diameter. The crankshaft and all parts of the reciprocating assembly must weigh within the manufacturer's weight tolerance.
Fuel: All cars must use a spec unleaded fuel from Sunoco.
Drive Train: Vent and breather lines may be added to the transmission and differential. Oil pumps and coolers may be used. Suspension: The suspension mounting points may be moved one inch and the wheelbase and track must remain as specified. Shock absorbers may be replaced, but must remain in the stock location. Any front or rear anti-roll bar may be used, provided it is bolted, not welded, to the vehicle.
Brakes: Alternative-material brake pads and shoes may be substituted for original equipment units. Both the Speed GT and Touring cars may use four-piston calipers, with Speed GT restricted to 14-inch maximum rotors and the Touring Car class restricted to a maximum 12-inch rotor. ABS is permitted only in Speed GT.
Exhaust System: All cars must use mufflers and must comply with the maximum 107dba limit.
Wheels: The standard wheels may be replaced with direct, bolt-on aftermarket wheels. Maximum diameters are generally 18" for GT cars and 17" for Touring Cars.
Bodywork: All Touring Cars may run spec rear wings and approved aftermarket body kits. GT car bodywork must be approved.
Tires: Speed Touring Car utilizes the Toyo Proxes T1-S ultra high-performance street tire. Tires may be shaved. In 2003, Speed GT Championship will utilize the Toyo Proxes RA-1 race compound DOT-approved tire.
One of the best outcomes of an Evo racing program will undoubtably be the development of reliable and readily available performance parts. As we all know, racing is by far the best development environment for aftermarket as well as factory parts. It will also be nice to see the Evo kicking butt on the Speed Channel !!!
Best wish from be too. I hope you going to make it. I would to see an EVO out there kicking those sorry asses. ahahha. By the way, what channel is all this races on? Speed? I hate NASCAR!!! IT is so boring to watch. And at what time is best to catch all of these actions on SPEED? THX
any idea on what type of paint scheme u r going with. as soon as you make a decision and get started, it would be cool to see pics of a race prepped evo. i know the evo is a capable machine but i applaud you anyway that is one of the coolest things i have ever heard.
