New one. Lately my sister has been hanging out with new guys (she is a junior in high school) and they're more into cars than previous ones. At some point they saw the car in the garage or heard someone say something about it, anyway, one of them is obsessed with getting an STi, the others all think it is awesome. So practically every time they come over and I am home they ask if they can go in the garage and look at it.

The story above reminded me of that, so I figured I'd share. My favorite is how the guy who dreams of having an STi calls it a "sti" when he asks me if he can see it... not an es-tee-eye. It always seems to be the people that want one that call them that... Perhaps it shows the intelligence level of the crowd?

 

They're just unhappy that STi is less catchy and easy to say as 'Evo'

 

Had a guy driving an R32 filling up at the pump next to me tell me my PB X MR looked sick and that he hadn't bothered to check out Evos before, but now he was interested and he'd have to check them out.

Also had a guy in a modded Integra/RSX stop as he was driving by at the gas station and say "That thing is nasty, man." He gave a couple salutary revs before he pulled out.

I noticed that someone at my workplace had bought a new RR X GSR. I started parking near the other Evo but never met him. One afternoon a friend of his was checking out my MR and we started talking about it. He said "His is nice, but I think I like yours better."

I still haven't met the guy with the GSR. If you're on these boards, sorry, man!

 

one of the best one i had is when i pulled up to a ferrari at a red light and all he did was stare at me. i think he was jealous because I'm young and well..... he wasnt

god i know im going to catch hell for letting people know this

well im still in high school and i had some kid chase me down in halls just to ask questions about the evo
I only race the evo on the track or drag strip im not some idiot who races every time someone talks trash or revs his engine at me

 

Had a guy come up to me and say that looks jus like the car I built in Need For Speed lol

 

Recently after a car show all the younger people gathered up to set up street races. "wtf is the point of having a fast a$$ car if you're not gonna race?!" somewhat funny but thanked him for saying my car was fast!

a brand new z06 parks next to me and an older guy gets out of it and stares at my car up and down. he circles it checkin it out and when he gets to the driver window as i'm getting out he says, "this is a very nice car! I like it a lot!"

great feeling to get a compliment from a guy with a brand new z06

 

I have had that happen!

 

My little nephews has been playing alot racing games lately their only 4. He saw my car and he just stood there staring at the car in awe. Then turns around to look at me and says kool. The face says it all tho.

 

Just Recent couple of elementary or high school kids came saw my car park when i was buying lunch came out and said " Nice car" I Smiled and left...

Sometimes its annoying because Canada weren't suppose to get EVO in

One time or actually few times when people check my car out they say " Wow nice LANCER!"
I basically wanted to hang myself at that moment, Canadian people only see EVOs as an upgraded version of lancers...lol which they kinda are in a sense.

 

car enthusiasts and kids love my car, soccer moms sitting at starbucks (snotty biatches) hate my car while I get off my car and lock it, letting the turbo timer doing its thing, (set up for 30seconds running before shutting off) All I get is: "CAN YOU SHUT OFF YOUR CAR? " Im a pretty respectful kinda of guys so I try to really keep my mouth shut from saying rude things to them, but honestly their kids like my car, but if you were too concern about the amount of exhaust you might breath get your fat *** inside the coffee shop and let my car turbo prolong its lifetime.(btw, I still have a high flow cat and a 3" exhaust ending to a stock muffler)

 

my daughter started 9th grade this year, when she mentioned my EVO to her friends she became more popular.

 

i think we left out the redneck dick in his ford piece of *** attempting to chase you down or race you.lol
i personally like to scare little old women who sweep the sidewalks in front of there homes routinely .but thats me.imagine if i had an aftermarket bov? lol the possibilities are endless

 

or how about the usual questions.is it fast? is that sound nos? love that one.

 

my evo is 100% stock and everyone seems to think i moded every part of the body lol

 

I saw owner of Mitsubishi dealer where I bought my evo in Porsche 911 with his kid at intersection, The kid pointing at my car and telling dad look at that car, Dad said yes I saw it!
Well my dad helped me to buy evo and I have to buy one in future for my son.
