Clunking sound

I took my car in for an alignment the other day and when I got it back my clutch seemed like it was a little rough on the engement. Later that night it got much worse. When I take off from a stand still the whole drivetrain of my car shakes very violently untill I let the clutch all the way out...so bad that it feels like the car is about to fall apart. Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause this? I have a competition stage 4 six puck if that makes any difference...

I don't understand why an alignment would mess up something in your drivetrain.

Unless those guys who did work on your alignment took it for a joyride and beat the crap out of your Evo.

Thats a possibility.

Yeah that's what it sounds like. Sounds like your clutch is shuttering. I bet they launched it a few times or many times. What a bunch of a$$ clowns

Always, always, always write down your mileage before you leave your car at any shop. There would be no reason for them to test drive your alignment, so if they put any additional miles on the vehicle and damage occurred, you could ream their asses in court.

Unfortunately, I think everyone else is right. Take your car to the dealership, explain to them what happened and ask them what they think is damaged. Get an invoice, and send it to the shop that did the alignment along with a letter from a lawyer. Bluff and act like you actually did write the mileage down and that you KNOW they were doing stupid **** with it. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Sounds like some grease monkeys took it for a joy ride. I'd be ****ing crazy pissed if that happened. AS others have said, write down mileage, or hang out until it's done. That sort of thing doesn't take long anyways.

First how old is your clutch? Did you use Comps tob or did you get a new oem tob? Comp's clutch tob are junk they have been having nothing but trouble with them! I personally know of 4 evo's that had about 1000 miles on there new clutch and tob went and messed alot of stuff up. They were suppose to of fixed this problem and have a new comp 4 clutch thats suppose to come out this week.

The clutch has maybe 3000 miles on it, comp TOB I did all the labor myself, Ive done many evo clutches before and I know that everything was insatalled right. It sound just like clutch shutter but very violent. Could a TOB cause that?

I was refered to the guy that did my alignmnet by some people I auto X with and I doubt he would go and launch my car...but even if he did I dont think that would mess the clutch up considering that I have personally launched my car hard enough for it to go sideways with 275/40/17 BFG tires and it was just fine afterwards..

My tob rattles very loud!! Im replacing my clutch just because of that. I get false knock all the time because of it. When you push the clutch in the rattle goes away, thats one way you can tell its the tob.

Yup, use a nice brand new OEM Mitsu TOB no matter what clutch you run. They are much higher quality than the Chinese ones a lot of kits include.

that may also be true, but those cases are less common and few and far between in comparison to people who use aftermarket TOBs.
