Question MIVec head!

yo was up everyone! i was wondering wanted some of your opinions. can i put a MIVEC head on my 03 evo 8? you know how some honda's would have a D-series motor but with a B16 head.

i dont think so. you can put evo 8 head on 9 shortblock. why would you want to do something like that not smart. just put cams spring and retainer upgrade and your good to go. or if going all out get it ported and do the valvetrain and bam ready to rock

From a honda stand point, you would never put a B16 head on a d series, but i see what your saying. It would be more like putting a b16 head on a b18ls bottom.

Yes you can, I have seen several threads on here relating to this topic. It is a pain in the ***, because if you want to use the MIVEC with the 8 you have to re-run a 9 wiring harness (maybe just adapt some things on your 8, but i think you need another harness for the new head...) and sensors and eventually get a 9 ecu so you can have the appropriate MIVEC maps. You have to pull the dash out of the car to get the harness in there, then run it through the firewall... Another problem is with the bottom end I believe, something with tapping oil lines for the new MIVEC head, I forget where I saw the thread, but if you dig deep enough you will find it... Sounds like a royal pain in the a$$...

oh, yeah you can, but it looks like a real pain.. A lot of the parts can swap over from an 8 to a 9 and vice versa with a little modification...
