Help needed!

Whats up guys. I have a question regarding some maintenance. Ive searched everywhere and found no answers, so I will post this thread hoping to hear some good intel. Mods, please do not close this thread, because its important to me. Okay moving along, my 06 Lancer Evolution IX is due for its 30,000 mile tune up. This is the entire package I will be getting. I have a local shop that is going to do this tune up. Now I know the factory oils are Mobil 1, and DOT 3 of course. They recommended that I use Redline fluids, which includes a bottle of water wetter. I personally have never heard of Redline fluids. Has anyone used this on their Evo? This company has this tune up kit for the Evo from the years 03 and up. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. This car is my daily driver and I only want the best for it. I know with Royal Purple, once you use it, you have to stick to it. Im always curious if I have to do that with Redline.

AMS Uses redline fluids in their diff/tc on their evos, so does john sheppard. Redline is a very well respected lubricant and is waaay better than royal purple, some people prefer it over mitsubishis diaqueen, i believe its personal preferance and their both great. So no worries about the redline fluid at all

I use redline, it was recommended by the shop that I use.

20w50 for motor oil.

Water wetter is good, but i heard it can break down the coolant faster requiring more frequent changes.

You don't need two bottles of the MTL. Get three bottles of the MT-90 instead. And why six quarts of engine oil? The motor only takes ~five.

Alright, ill go with redline. Now that you mentioned AMS using it, I do remember seeing something about it. Now once i use redline, do I need to stick with it for every oil change like you have to do with Royal Purple?

You do not have to , just make sure your engine is getting synthetic oil of a good brand and your fine . Personally I think Royal Purple isn't that great , when I put it in my IS300 it burned alot of oil within 400 mi. . It not only happened to me , but to 3 of my other friends as well . Just some info. from my past experiences , hope that helps

When water wetter breaks down it turns into small brown droplets that looks like motor oil. I thought I blew my headgasket when my water wetter broke down.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Search, read, closed. And I mean that - there are masses of threads here that go into what oils, fluids, etc. to use.

I would not use the Redline in my trans or diffs. Ever.
