All that a/c and power stuff aint' worth $4000. By definition (at least mine), a racetrack ready RS would def have to have Ti turbo, ayc, etc and that means it'll have to cost more, not less then the "comfort" version.

"...This will be a car, ready for a roll cage and to hit the track..."

I wonder if it will carry ANY waranty! LOL!

So they're taking out everything that doesn't have any problems and leaving in the things that do - the 5speed trans, the clutch, the rust, etc.

No changes for the 2004 Evo's, that is correct. This is in addition to the current Evo.

It's on all the slides that they had at the conference.

What happened to the Evo 8 MR? Is that coming or is this all B.S. They are having a hard time selling these with some comfort features; I can't see these "hard core" models coming also. No A/C? Who will buy it.

I bet it's legit info. I tried to start a thread a while back about how you could decontent the EVO and sell if for less. I think the RS is typically sold with steel wheels and no brembos. A car like this would outdrag a regular EVO - probably less clutch issues with skinny tires too. Hard to see how they can save 500 pounds though.

I would!!

seriously the MR will be a Japan only vehicle. They have no reason to bring it here. No if they did a subaru deal where you have your basic:

wrx = evo

sti = evo rs or MR

lower the price of the evo and get those off the lot.

lol i wish.

No window crank mechanisms... just a leather strap to pull the window up out of the door, just like the old Porsches... mmm, no thanks. I'll save my pennies and buy a Lotus Elise.

I see your point but you can't rally an Elise

Besides if your on a budget and want a high performance this would be the answer.

There is an EVO 8 RS coming. But the price and weight reduction numbers are wrong.

Cheers,
