Evolution 8 RS

A little FYI

Mitsubishi is bringing in the evo 8 RS. The first ones should be arriving at the dealers a little after the 1st of the year. The RS will be 500 lbs lighter than the standard and cost about $4000 cheaper.

wing, p/w, p/doorlock, p/mirrors, a/c, radio... that's about it... I don't think that'll save you 4 Gs

I'll keep my "creature comforts"

Yea total BS this is the stripped that the US will see besides a highly improbable special race version- ie viper racing. There is no 4K to loose there is no 500 lbs either unless its a whole new 2 door hatch

Does it come with an engine and tranny?

Edit: The completely stripped JDM RS model (steelies and all) only weighs about 200 lbs less than the GSR model. So where that extra 300 lbs of weight loss comes from - god only knows.

The rumors about an RS have some value. They have been mentioned a number of times to me, and through various publications to dealers.

I don't know absolute specs though, big rumors was the 500lbs, and $4000 less, but my guess is it will be around 300lbs, and $2000-$3000 less.

It will have no AC, no power anything, no radio, hardly ANY sound damping material, no carpet in the trunk, no spare, etc. Basically stripped.

This will be a car, ready for a roll cage and to hit the track.
