Wouldn't recommend it for anyone not running stock suspension. Cables and chains swing away from the tire while the car is moving. If you have a drop you will most likely be having the chains chewing away at your car while you drive... I would recommend snow tires instead of chains and all seasons.

What Rxracer said; I hope by finger-gap you mean the length of a finger, not the width, otherwise forget it.

my car is slammed, no finger gap at all, and i drove my car to the snow last year and it was pretty good.i had bridgestone blizzak ws-60 tires and they handled perfectly in the snow. the only bad thing i noticed about the car being so low was that as i was moving forward at a good speed, snow would kinda shoot out of the fender. i was driving and there was some guy walking and he had to like, kinda dodge my snowballs haha. other then that my ride height was perfect.

i drove mine through the passes in washington two years ago and with a 1 inch drop it was intresting. depending on if you hit a blizzard or not you should be fine.
