"Key Battery Low"

"Key Battery Low"

I got in my car ('09 GTS Lancer CVT) and it popped up with the message when i started it, "Key Battery Low". How/Can I change the battery in it or do I have to take it into the dealer?

i wouldn't mess with an hi-tech key like this. Just give 'em a call and ask them how much they charge. Could be less expensive than paying for a new one.

if you have the FAST key or even the regular one, just pop open the case with a small flat blade and get the battery from a store....cost me under 10$....will cost probably 30+ at a dealership.
