FAST key low battery

so my little info display in the guage cluster has been showing low battery on my FAST key for a few weeks now. So I took the battery out of second key and put it in the first. But it still shows low battery when I start the car.
The reason I switched the battery instead of just using the other key is cause I have a Python alarm/remote start installed on my car and it can only link with one key.

Is there anything that needs to be reset when I change the battery or should it reset by itself? Anyone have any suggestions for me?

I had the same issue ..without the alarm with remote start.. All you should have to do is replace the battery with a brand new one from radio shack or where ever.y and the message should go away on the display(this happens with my 2010gsr)

did it go away from the next time you started back up or did it take a while to catch on that you have a new battery in there?

If you've had the batteries in both keys all this time, it could be that *both* batteries are low.

I had to take the battery out of the spare key. The car gets really confused if the spare key is in my briefcase, in the trunk.
I tend to stock up on those batteries -- my garage door remotes use the same batteries.
They're available pretty much everywhere.

Had that happen but without the alarm system. I just tried to only using the key to start the car. Car went ape **** and shut down on me without turning over until I got a new battery for it.
