Battery tender Jr??? In Minnesota

Hello. I have searched with no avail! I live in Minnesota and I am storing my Evo in my garage that has no heat this winter. I would like to get a trickle/maintaining battery charger specifically for this application. I know I should take the battery out and store it in a heated area.....but I want the ability to take her out for a rip every now and again when there is no salt/snow or sand on the road. Thus my thoughts on a battery tender. I do have a new Shurukin mini battery currently in the car. Do the mini batteries take a different charger? Or a simple 12v charger will do? Or do they need a 6v charger? I will post a couple links to what I am looking at. All input is much appreciated and welcome! Thanks in advance, Rick....... also this is a dry cell battery I believe.

Use any 12v battery charger you want.

Any trickle charger as long as it is 12V. Just because the battery is smaller physically doesn't mean that the voltage will be any different. I wouldn't think that the cold would affect the trickle charger as long as it isn't a cheap one. Either one of those that you picked I would think should work for your application

I use th Schumacher battery tender. I use it every day when I park my Evo in the garage. It will automatically shut off when your battery is fully charged.

Cost me all of $28 at Vatozone.

the little battery tenders are neat as heck.

mine came with a spare battery charger harness, and a harness I have permanently attached to my car battery. It has a lead so I can plug it in to the charger remotely.

so, do it.

Do you need to disconnect the terminals while the battery is mounted in the car before you hook up the battery tender?

I had an issue with my mini battery in the winters here in KC. If the car ever sat outside when it was below 20 or so for more than a few hours it wouldn't start.

I have since relocated a full size to the trunk and it works much much better. Last week it sat overnight outside in sub zero conditions and started right up the next morning.

No, just use the supplied alligator clip connection and the LED on the unit will be orange when charging, then green when she is fully charged.

They also supply you a connector that you can mount onto the battery and it stays there all the time, all you do is plug the other side of into it and you're off. I tucked my bay and did not want the eye sore.

I have been contemplating a full size in the trunk after having replaced two AMS batteries in sub zero temps. After using the trickle charger this year, I have not had any issues what so ever. I just plug her in when I get home and she is good to go.
