Overboosting help all stock

Lately its been colder around my parts ranging from 30-0 degrees, the first few days i notice my car boosting to about 25 psi at full throttle. Now when i give it full gas it seems to stutter for a second then build to 23-25 then stutter then drop to around 17-18 which is normal for high rpms. Anyone know what cold be going on besides just the colder air its bringing in? I had a friend drive it and he said its possibly boost creep by i dont get why that would happen without any mods. Thanks

yeah its only started since its turned into the arctic here, ill keep on eye on because its not going to warming up anytime soon. Would a MBC help with this isssue, id probably have to have it low for winter then turn it up to 20 when summer comes around for normal boosting. I know last time i checked my stock BOV was leaking maybe thats starting to get worse ill have to chevk again

It should. I use an EBC just for the convenience. I set a pressure I want, and it learns it and runs that boost.

interesting. my srt never overboosted when it was stock in cold weather....the computer and sensors were programmed to only go to a certain point. im guessing the evos would be the same but i could be wrong. like everyone else said, give a boost controller a shot and turn it down a couple of notches.

I dunno. It is not exactly warm in Nebraska either, -11 as I write this, and I'm not encountering any problems. Being all stock, as you say, I don't think this should be happening unless something is wrong.

Yes, colder/ denser air.

When it got to 11 degrees outside I had to turn my boost down from 22 to 20 and now it is fine.

It was about 10 degress out tonight when i put it in, it was stuttering the tiniest bit at 19/20 so i turned it down a hair and now its fine. Hard shifting is now so much smoother the boost isnt all over the place. Im in love with my car again.

It is the cold weather sessing with your car. When it is 0 degrees outside I always watch the boost gauge to make sure I'm not over boosting.
Just keep an eye on your gauges.
