Evo 6 rear dif/ suspension
I really really wish someone could show me pics of the rear body crossmember that the non AYC mechanical diffs front alloy cross piece bolts to . Its the one that has the two vertical outer studs but importantly the different steel skin incorporation the inner pair of bolts captive body nuts .
I think in a non AYC Evo its part of the bit welded on with the fuel tank mounting tabs .
In Australia we have 95% of Evos AYC which is the opposite to the US where most Evos have conventional rear diffs . My 6 is a GSR meaning damn AYC and I want a conventional rear end but need to fit those extra captive nuts to properly mount the conventional diffs front alluminium cross brace .
PLEASE PLEASE be a world first and post pics of the body mounts for that RS type front (of rear diffs) mount brace . I've searched high and low for weeks and found nothing which amases me .
Sorry so intense , cheers A in Oz .

hey people is it true that Evo VI GSR Diff breaks at high (5000+ rpm) launches?? & RS diff is more stable at high rpm launches?? i was informed not to do launches above (4500rpm) in my EVO VI..? is it true?
It's also like your gearbox surviving a launch, it might break, or it might not.
Although overall an RS diff is stronger.
Yep, they are very different to an AYC diff.
The RS diffs look just like a regular rear diff, they are steel cased painted black, heres one here:

While the AYC diff is a big lumped aluminium case of fail with hydraulic lines going into it, if you do a google image search you'll find them, or here:

You can use Evo 7-9 mechanical differentials with the Evo 6 subframe and control arms. Just make sure to use the diff mounting bar and axles.
Also I would try to use matching suspension components, makes dampening adjustments much easier.
