high speeds breaking evo 9 wings?!
My Evo VIII ran 167mph on Pocono's long course with no trouble for the stock wing.
A competitor was towing his MR on a open trailer when a tractor trailer retread flew over his truck and struck the Evo's rear wing. It broke it clean right in the middle. They spent the entire weekend trying to re-enforce it with strips of wood and aluminum but it kept caving in with track speeds over 150mph.

The Evo IX wing is designed to handle the higher speeds with no problem, got to be some more to this failures than just driving fast. I had my evo go past 150 few times at the track with no problems.
i think something else sets it off first, and then it becomes vulnerable - mine formed a crack after being outside in the cold winter for long periods of time - never noticed. then driving at high speeds the car's wing actually bent
