Perhaps front LSD is as serious as selection of tires or alignment? I think the diff will make a great difference during competition.

Funny thing is I do run at different track events, and I still want the creature comforts. Unless it's an open wheel car, I usually plan to drive it to the track and home and want to be comfortable on the way there.

People must not underatand demand very well. I guess people are complacent and just like to accept whatever they are given. If people all stood up and said give us SMT as an *OPTION* like on the new Audi's, the BMW M3, the MR2 Spyder, 360 Modena F1, manufacturers are most often happy to provide you with whater it takes to get your money. But when people aren't educated on what something offers and still comment on not wanting it, manufacturers hear the dont' want it and don't bother. As for the time it takes to add features to cars in this day and age, it's quite easy physically. The difficulty is only in getting those in charge. Those who sign the checks and approve the plans after seeing the analysis on the ROI papers.

Either way congrats to Mitsu offering the RS, more options is better, hopefully soon they'll swing to the other side of the GSR and offer a small bit of additional goodies for some extra moulah soon.

I think it's a good start - I would prefer for them to go further in including the MR enhancements too - and upping the power a bit.

I owned a 6 RS-2 which sounds similar to an 8 with 'urban jungle' package (except lighter and more power) - and it was an absolute blast!

You'd think an Evo without ABS doesn't sound like the best combination in the wet, but it really didn't need it - awesome brake control even without (And this comes from a guy who probably owes his life to ABS).

Personally I couldn't care less for sequential gearboxes, cruise control or any other part that doesn't help in maintaining the Evo as being one of only a handful of unadultered driver's cars left.

But to everyone their own - I have nothing against there being more trim levels so everyone gets their fill!

man, some of you guys are so close minded... if this car does not appeal to you, there is a reason for that...

hence only 700 being sent over...

I applaud for doing this, but I hope it doesn't get put in A Stock along with the regular Evo because I don't want to have to wrestle with thoughts of giving up AC and such. At only 700 a year though, it should probably get put on the exclusion list really, as the yearly production for stock class vehicles is supposed to be 1,000.

If it is deemed legal for stock though, it does make sense for to keep the 17" wheels, Brembos, Recaros, and the Momo as those items definitely help out the stock class autocrosser...

Is the rear RS diff any different than what we have now?

Besides the one trunk brace that is located inside the trunk near the taillights, are there any other extra braces?

My issues with extra power from the factory is it usually comes at an exhorbitant premium and insurance companies also get to use it as a factor in raising rates. 50hp from Mitsubishi I would guess would cost about $3500. 50hp aftermarket is less than $1000 and probably better quality IMO. Plus no increase in insurance rates with a few bolt ons.
