Lancer Evolution RS Thread [MEGA MERGE]
MP5,
Thought I was the only one picking up on the obvious.
Most serious racers couldn’t give a fart about air conditioning and power windows. All that stuff gets thrown out and replaced with the lightest stuff possible. This includes our too heavy seats. This car is for if you want to go really fast not necessarily for if you want to get there looking pretty. Even the stock wing is heavy! Mitsubishi is just getting a bit more serious about the sport side of things.
Incidentally unless they have changed the rules RS stands for Rally Sport.

The people who do not like the intro of the RS into the US line up are totally missing the point.
The Evo really is a rally car. Mitsubishi is making a stripped version available so people can more affordably take this car to the track (when I say track, I do not mean drag racing) and win.
This also shows their commitment to the brand here in the US as a viable and sellable product. We are getting trim levels now! Who knows what trim level they will bring here next!
I think most people who are sad that Mitsu didn't release a car with heated seats, reverse warning indicators, cruise control, and other blah blah gizmos are just punters who do not own and never will own an Evo, regardless of the trim options. Because if they are that worried about the comfort and luxury, they certainly will NEVER find it in an Evo.
The Evo was never, and never will be a luxury sporty car. And it will never try to be one either. To even try, would be a travesty and a sell-out attempt at building a car for the least common denominator.....the non-enthusiasts.

What kinda weird **** is that? Brembos, Recaros and Enkei wheels, yet roll up windows and no radio? I think they should have equipped the RS a little differently. Recaros, but black door handles.... damn...
