Yeah..

I remember when the spolier on the E30 M3 was considered "huge"..

http://www.bimmers.com/m3/gallery/bo...rear-side.html

Plus, you had this thing called a "Gurney Flap" that was adjustable and sat on top ogf the already "high" spolier..

Crazy..

I just think its great that there is an arguement comparing the 30K EVO to the 50K M3.

It is a great comparison, isn't it! I think it would be beyond incredible if Mitsu would throw on another $3,000 worth of goods and can compare the Evo to $100k 911 Turbos, Ferraris's, etc.

I think you guys are confused. They're comparing the 1988-1991 E30 M3, which is actually in spirit a lot like the Evo, much more than the current M3's are. An E30 M3 only shares the front door skins with the stock 3-series and is a homologation special like the earlier Evos I-VI.

Either way. We've all seen the comparison in Sport Compact Car and don't get me wrong, all these cars are great . . . from the E30 M3 to the EVO, to a new M3

True, true. Neither the Evo nor the M3 can fire Hellfire missiles, though

Yep..

That would be the "MR" EVO freinds..

(even though I am really technically talking about the OLD M3, not the new one..I still see your point)

ok so from what I read here the RS sounds a bit more understandable than what someone in sales was trying to feed me. I too think I will just follow my main idea and get the evo VIII for a few grand more.

I blew the pistons of my evo IV RS. I want to replace the pistons w/ 0.020" oversize w/ 9/1 compression ratio from JE forged Pistons. Will this work? what will be the problems which may ca=ome up if I use 9/1 rather than the 8.8/1 comp ration? thanks.

There is an Urban Jungle package from what I understand for the RS that makes it a US GSR minus the HIDs and Big wing. It has the front LSD, rear stiffening. Not sure if the big wing can be added back as an option, or the sunroof.

Mitsubishi's All New Lancer Evo RS!??!

Maybe you EVO guys can fill me on what the point of this new car!!!!! I dont get why they needed to produce this car can someone fill me in!

Mitsubishi announces the even more limited edition (700 to be sold) Lancer Evolution RS (new to the U.S. market obviously, but it's been available worldwide) due out for sale in January. Basically a completely stripped version of the Evo, some slight tweaks with the drivetrain, and additional bracing, plus it's cheaper than the regular Evo. Prices are expected to be at slightly above $26,000.

Mitsubishi trimmed 146 pounds of nonessential?items from its already-stellar Lancer Evolution for even more performance. Those items include the wing; HID lights (replaced with halogens); rear wiper; air conditioning; ABS; power motors for the windows, doors, locks and side mirrors; the entire audio system; trim in the trunk; vanity mirrors; rear assist grips; map lights; lots of sound-deadening material and even that little piece of leather wrapping that goes around the parking brake lever."

Oh yeah they also added a helical limited-slip differential to replace the Evolutio open diff, a crossbar over the spare tire hole in the trunk, and a strut tower brace in front.

I still dont see the purpose only 700 units is not alot to make money on sales!
