hks carbon ti fitment question

Well I bought an hks carbon ti catback exhaust from a seller on our forum and had a noobie question. The exhaust came off his evo 8 and he told me it would fit the evo 9 fine and that I just had to seal up the o2 sensor with a bung. But I was wondering if all the mounting points and piping will go on my car without any hassle. Thanks and sorry bout the noobie question.

hks website says, "O2 (bung) plug and bracket adjustments required on 2006 Model Evo IX." i'm sure if you take it to a muffler shop, they can adjust everything for you fairly cheap. gl

Consider a $20 Cel Eliminator to plug up to O2 bung... such as the one from Road Race Engineering

"CEL Eliminator

Not really a simulator or fancy electronic box. Just an adapter to move the rear (downstream) O2 sensor out of the exhaust flow more to keep the check engine light from bugging you, should it be on for some reason :-/"

I have the HKS Carbon Ti exhaust on my Evo 9 MR... bought mine new and had to buy different hangers to make it fit right... when I went to a JDM bumper had to have it adjusted again at a muffler shop. Sometimes they fit without adjustment and sometimes they don't.

Just be prepared to take it to a muffler shop.

.... did he give you the mounts that come with the exhaust? Or do you just have the hangers? Because if you just have the hangers you're burnt. You'll have to have mounts made. Lucky for you I have the templates . Let me know if you need them.

Lucky . Mine came without mounts. My grandfather is a machinist and made some for me off of the templates. They even had adjustable sliders to hold the rubber secure. Made the exhaust so much more secure in the end. You'll enjoy the exhaust.
