The Evo is far safer then a bike an an accident yet still gives me the feeling of owning a machine I love to call my own and drive.

It's called compromise.
I was pointing out your analogy with the mortar. You're implying that whatever you do, where ever you are, you're gonna die if it's your time, right? So what's the point of wearing seat belt, driving defensively, choosing a safer family car, etc if it's how the way you look at safety?

I agree with you on getting t-boned by a large vehicle but you and your family getting t-boned by a sedan in your evo and my family and I getting t-boned in my pilot, my family and I have better chances of surviving (or lesser injuries). But hey, it's your family and your evo so it's your call. My condolences in advance

I dont really believe that its your time when its your time thing. Certain things can be provented but excessive worry is pointless. Short of driving your family around in an M1 abrams your not much safer then I am in my car.

To some people the peace of mind is worth it.

I understand that but its more a delusion of safty then anything is my point. I havent been in a wreck in like 7 years when I did get T-boned by a drunk driver while I was working for Comcast doing my boss a favor since no one wanted to work that day.

Luckily I was in my comcast van as this little as camry ****ed my **** up. Of course he was speeding and ran a red light but my point I havent been in an accident in a very long time. When was the last time you were in one? Whats to say the accident that your in isnt a semi where the driver is sleeping and doesnt realize traffic is stoped and rea ends you.

So to live your life under the false guise that driving your pilot will keep you safe instead of driving the Evo is just a fleeting thought I choose not to get caught up in.

I agree with you, I was even going to make an analogy that while a Pilot or G55 may BE and feel safe - a tragic 18 wheeler accident will still be the end.

Yeah that's my point exactly. I feel the Evo is a family sedan that is pretty safe but no car yet is 100% safe.

The evo unlike the pilot is a lot better of a car in the aspect of driving. I did almost wreck my Evo back in Jan of 09. I was driving from Kansas back to CT to go to my grandfathers funeral and I came out of a tunnel hit some black ice and got completly sideways to the point where I was looking at the jersey barrier. Fortunatly between my driving, ability not to panic and the Evos amazing ability to recompose itself I managed to avoid and accident completely.

No damage other then maybe a little more wear on my tires

Not to mention, god forbid - an Evo would be more quick nimble and able to get you out of a threatening situation (eg: road rage guy with a machine gun out the window)

By the time the kids grow up there probably won't even be cars as we know it. Plus the kids will probably grow up to hate/resent you anyways. **** it. Keep the Evo.
