Hey guys i need a o2 sensor for a evo ix. but i found out that the evo 8 & 9 use a different o2 sensor. OEM is $300 and found a denso for $70. Question is what is the difference in the o2 sensors for the evo 8 & 9. Should i buy the oem o2 sensor or oe denso sensor.

Evo 9 part: 1588a064
Evo 8 part: mn153010

the cross reference from denso says it matches the evo 8 but i called them and they say it matches the evo 9 too.

Which should i buy?

check part outs you can find them pretty cheap

 

I used an Evo 9 sensor on my Evo 8 for my rear o2. While the connectors are different, the wiring and sensor is exactly the same. Just splice it into your connector using the same colored wires. Mine has been working for over a year!

As for aftermarket sensors, the universal Bosch ones from the local parts store works great. I know a few people running them, including myself. There's a wiring diagram in the how-to somewhere. Again, just splice it in.
