x2. The test pipe barely makes the car louder. I have a TXS test pipe in my car right now.

there is no cat to stop(filter) the exhaust so there is a smell....it not unburned fuel if you have a good tune

reason why you get different opinions about test pipe smell is because every car is different. cars with cams will have worse smell as their idle will suck (compared to stock cams); hence more unburned fuel from lopy idle. also very skilled tuners can reduce the lopyness of cams and hence reduce smell....

the reason why i stick with test pipe mostly is the price. HFC's are almost double the price of resonated test pipes.

There is a very slight exhaust smell in my garage, but other than that I've never smelled any exhaust gasses with my TP. The exhaust also isn't that loud, when I got it sound checked at a road course it came out to 91.8 dB at 5k rpm in neutral from ~30ft behind the car.

yeah test pipe doesnt make it a huge difference in the end regarding noise, type of muffler is the key. smell wise, mine does smell slightly while idling but its not horrible.

both will smell. test pipe will be worse but its not too bad anyways. imo a hfc isnt worth it. if you want better flow without the smell, get a 3" truck cat, best flow is of course with a tp

If the tune is good on a evo with 3" straight pipe tbe replacing the hfc, would my car pop, flame or backfire?
