Best Gauge Pod and Place to Put!?
#136
For me, deciding on what gauge pod to get came down to a process of elimination..
First, since I have large tweeters in my A-pillars, I did not want to further hack my custom A-pillars and for anything to obstruct or interfere with the diffraction and sound from there. I also didnt want to draw extra attention from cops as A-pillars gauges are obvious. That ruled out A-pillar pods.
Second, I have no room in my dash centre console. Lower compartment has AC controls, upper houses a double din head unit.
Third, I didnt want to cut holes or use up my glove box.
That left me with the steering wheel colomn pod. I didnt like the unfinished look of ATI pods, too raw with the screws and bent metal & whatnot showing. It looks like it was lazily added on without any regard to aesthetics. The Autometer looks like a factory item so I went with that.
I just wish Autometer spaced em apart a little wider like the ATI pod.. but no regrets.
I've never had trouble with going empty. Sure, I have to look over the pod to see the fuel gauge but I tend to fill up when I have quarter of a tank left anyway.
